I am super excited to open-source the code executor behind logicboard.com - an in-browser collaborative code editor. The backend is written in Elixir+Phoenix and implements a WebSocket API to execute code in docker containers. Next steps include making this more secure, I am considering Google's gVisor to implement better isolation between containers and the host kernel.

Hello everyone! I'm currently in a journey to learn and improve my Elixir and Go skills (my daily job uses C++) and looking through my backlog for projects to take on I decided Elixir is the perfect language to write a highly-parallel BitTorrent tracker. So I have spent my free time these last 3 months writing one! Now I think it has enough features to present it to the world (and a docker image to give it a quick try). I know some people see trackers as relics of the past now that DHT and PEX are common but I think they still serve a purpose in today's Internet (purely talking about public…

I needed a way to let users write JavaScript to create plugins for a site I'm building. I couldn't find a solution I was happy with, so ended up building one that run's it in a web worker on a separate domain from your main site. Hopefully I haven't missed anything. If so, please let me know! My website has an interactive demo you can write code in the browser textarea, and see the output on the right. Hi HN! Korean high school senior here, about to start CS in college. I built a browser engine from scratch in C++ to understand how browsers work. First time using C++, 8 weeks of development, lots of debugging—but it works! Features: - HTML parsing with error correction - CSS cascade and inheritance - Block/inline layout engine - Async image loading + caching - Link navigation + history Hardest parts: - String parsing(html, css) - Rendering - Image Caching & Layout Reflowing What I learned (beyond code): - Systematic debugging is crucial - Ship with known bugs rather than chase…

FlowLens▲134Hi HN, We often run into this with coding agents like Claude Code: debugging turns into copy-pasting logs, writing long explanations, and sharing screenshots. FlowLens is an MCP server plus a Chrome extension that captures browser context (video, console, network, user actions, storage) and makes it available to MCP-compatible agents like Claude Code. You can try it here: https://magentic.ai/flowlens Any feedback—good, bad, or brutal—is welcome.
