Hi HN, I’m Guillaume, the cofounder of Bearer, an Open Source SAST solution. After launching a few weeks ago here on Hacker News with support for Ruby and JavaScript stacks, I’m happy to report we’ve just released a new version (v1.2) with TypeScript support! In terms of code coverage, we use the same rules already implemented for vanilla JavaScript, but as usual, you can build your own. The rules list is here: https://docs.bearer.com/reference/rules/ It’s a first version for TS, but we believe that thanks to the pre-existing JavaScript support it should already…

Hi HN! I built RustNet, a Terminal UI based network monitor written in Rust that shows real-time connections with process identification and protocol detection. What may make it interesting: • Deep packet inspection for HTTP, HTTPS/TLS (with SNI), DNS, and QUIC protocol detection • Process identification using eBPF on Linux (experimental) and PKTAP on macOS which does also catch short-lived processes that polling procfs or lsof would miss • Multi-threaded packet processing with lock-free data structures for the UI • Cross-platform (Linux, macOS, Windows but process identification so far…

Author here. Got tired of checking Upwork, NoFluffJobs, eFinancialCareers, LinkedIn and HN threads separately, so I built a CLI that scrapes them into a local SQLite DB and lets me browse everything in one web UI with filters and semantic search. Details: - Scraping via real browser over CDP (your own logged-in session, no API keys) - Embeddings run locally (nomic-embed-text via fastembed), stored in Lance - Rust backend, SolidJS frontend embedded in binary, single static executable Works for my use case (Europe-based contractor). It's my first rust project, decided to do local CLI, it's…

Project Page: https://rotel.dev Github: https://github.com/streamfold/rotel Hi HN, Ray and Mike here! We’re building Rotel, a new high performance, resource efficient approach to OpenTelemetry collection. Rotel is open source (Apache License 2.0) and runs as a standalone process and collects telemetry from external processes or other collection agents. It consumes 75% less memory and 50% less CPU in benchmarks https://streamfold.github.io/rotel-otel-loadtests/benchmarks, so it is particularly well-suited for environments where resource…
