Hey HN, Long time lurker first time posting. This is a streamlit app I wrote as a side project. It's a Generative AI webapp for creating short 30 second informative videos on any topic or subject under the sun. It's not perfect by any means, but a cool demo. My first public repo intended to be used by others. While I am curious on how you'd use it, I'd love feedback on the code/setup/pythonic nature of it all. I am on a career break and just experimenting a lot, especially on ways to make AI useful for everyday things. Hi everyone! This project started with me manually doing the following process: Step 1: Get the transcript from youtube by clicking "show transcript" inside the description box Step 2: The transcript usually won't have any punctuation and have lots of mistakes, so paste it into ChatGPT to clean it up or summarize it. The idea here is to make this process as seamless as possible. What I ended up with was a Chrome extension [0] that adds a button in the YouTube UI that does all of this. Eddie the Smart Video Editor is a Python script that automates the process of editing videos based on specific code-words you say while recording the video. It takes a video file, converts it into an audio file, transcribes the audio to text using OpenAI's Whisper API and identifies segments between specified code-words. It then cuts out these segments from the original video, removes any silence and produces a new edited video file ready for the final touches.
