Creating a basic webpage has become way too complicated and expensive. Often there are those times when you just want to share your thoughts with the world but don't want the overhead and complexities that come with maintaining a website. Sometimes, you have an interesting thought piece, an education article, or just a quick and simple bio page that doesn't need the heavy hand of a WordPress blog or Medium post. That's where Single Page comes in. Publish a single page instantly to the web with no fuss. I was laid off three weeks ago from Twitter and I decided to work through a couple of my…

Hello HN, I hope it will posted as well. I made a note in single html file. This does not require a separate membership or installation of the software, and if you download and modify an empty file, you can modify and read it at any time, regardless of online or offline. It can be shared through messengers such as Telegram, so it is also suitable to share contents with long articles and images. It is also possible to host and blog because it is static html file content.

(spoiler: its XSLT) I've been working on a little demo for how to avoid copy-pasting header/footer boilerplate on a simple static webpage. My goal is to approximate the experience of Jekyll/Hugo but eliminate the need for a build step before publishing. This demo shows how to get basic templating features with XSL so you could write a blog post which looks like My Article some content hello hello Some properties which set this approach apart from other methods: - no build step (no need to setup Jekyll on the client or configure Github/Gitlab actions) - works on any webserver…

Hey HN, I recently found myself needing a quick way to preview HTML and SVG code without having to copy it into an IDE, save it, and then open it in a browser. ChatGPT's new canvas feature is great for generating code, but it doesn't provide a way to preview HTML directly. To solve this, I made a small bookmarklet that allows you to instantly preview HTML from your clipboard in a new tab. Just copy your HTML, click the bookmarklet, and it will render immediately. It's a simple tool, but it’s saved me a lot of repetitive steps, and I figured it might help others too. The bookmarklet code and…

just wanted to share this useful tool with you. I have been looking at something like this for a very long time. https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/css-used/cdopjfddj... what it does: it analyses your html dom and looks for css classes. Then it extracts it all and combines it into 1 single css file. I used 5 css framworks which was on 340kb kb. This tool made it 36kb!
