The project aims to organize computer science research in a logical, simple, and easy-to-follow way. It is designed to help us find papers worth reading first. I started building Trending Papers because following computer science research has become increasingly hard as the pace of innovation accelerates. The number of new articles on Arxiv has grown at 27% CAGR for the past 20 years. 240 new papers have been filed daily on average over the past 12 months. And the number is growing: last month, there were well over 300 new papers on average every single day. The system is based on some…

Paper is a new design tool. We launched into open alpha today. Anyone can now sign up and use Paper. We started Paper about 1 year ago with the goal to bring more creativity back into design tools. It feels like the existing options are becoming increasingly corporate. To celebrate to launch, we published a new shader that lets anyone see their logo in Apple's new heat map animation style. There is no sign-up needed at heat.paper.design. We're always looking for feedback from anyone who uses Sketch, Figma, Photoshop, or Illustrator, about what they most need in their professional design…

For years I've used paper and a printed clock to organise my day. Found it way better than any list or timeline app. Played around a bit and made a digital clone to speed things up: Reassign.app (best experience is on desktop) Anyone else think of their day as a circle rather than a list? edit: it also has MCP integration (https://reassign.app/api/mcp) — my Claude already connects to Linear and Calendar, so I use it to start and plan my day. I can quickly get a skeleton of a day out and then polish until done.

Almost one year ago I asked HN if anybody is interested to make a Web app to make reading and finding scientific papers smarter [http://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=1664648]. No one did, at least no one did what "I" think is the best way to approach this problem. A a few month ago I decided to do it myself.<p>Meet JournalClub iPad app (absolutely free), http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/journalclub/id443819334? I have a recommendation engine in the pipeline that I would introduce in the next update (hopefully in a month or so). I really appreciate any comments, feedbacks.

I recently custom prompted 1.5 pro to teach me new words by helping me to make sentences using them - the only way to learn vocab IMO. It's been helpful for my GRE prep, hope you may find it useful as well!

Fun little project, had Gemini 2.5 Pro summarize HN's top 30 each hour, both the stories and comment sections. Pretty impressed with Gemini 2.5. It's probably the first model other than Claude 3.7 Sonnet where I actually find the output readable. I normally use 3.7 Sonnet for coding, but used Gemini for the codegen on this one as well. Was pretty impressed! Using Cursor, it seemed to instruction-follow better than Claude generally does, and remain lucid during very long agent sessions. Thanks for your feedback!

I’ve been frustrated with PDFs and found arXiv HTML lacking, so I built a fully interactive paper reader. Features: • Hover references, citations, equations • Light/dark mode • Auto-generated dependency graphs for definitions/lemmas/theorems • Table of contents that syncs with scroll • Highlighting + annotations • “Copy raw LaTeX” anywhere Featured paper: Video models are zero-shot learners and reasoners (Veo 3) https://www.sciencestack.ai/arxiv/2509.20328v2

Hi HN, I’m one of the creators of Erudyte, a platform providing computer science teaching tools. We’re excited to share it with HN! Our website is https://erudyte.io/ and you can try it now without creating an account. As students we didn't like the traditional method of coding on paper. Not being able to test our code and the inconsistencies in grading made the process frustrating for both us and our teachers. Therefore, we developed a platform that simplifies authoring and grading questions. You can generate hundreds of test cases easily using a no-code visual test case…

Napkinbook is a smart canvas for collaboration, sharing, and discovering insights. I think of it as a more computational version of Excalidraw or Miro: a flexible canvas where you can think, build, present, and collaborate without constantly moving between different tools. Since my first Show HN, I’ve added: * Much better mobile support * AI-assisted brainstorming * Presentation decks with animations * Shareable reports * Live collaboration * Actual Git history The goal is to make the canvas itself the workspace, rather than treating whiteboarding, presenting, reporting, and version history…
