Products that do what Speech.is interop for Namecoin does

I'm a core-contributor to Namecoin and the lead developer for Speech.is, an interoperability layer for Namecoin that I have been working on for the past year. While the main goal of the Speech.is website is to provide a scalable interop system that doesn't involve proxies or mirroring content, I was able to backport some of the censorship resistant properties of the Namecoin .bit TLD to regular websites. Speech.is reimplements DNS lookups within the browser itself. When coupled with emerging WebRTC P2P networks we are able to push all processing to the client side, shielding us from legal…

Hi HN / YC I just shipped Speechable — a free, open-source AI text-to-speech solution for WordPress that runs entirely in the browser with no API keys, no paid services, and no server infrastructure. I wrote a full write-up here: https://tanishmittal.com/speechable-ai-text-to-speech-for-wo... What it does Adds a native audio player to WordPress posts Uses browser-based neural TTS Supports 12+ languages Offers multiple voice presets & effects Lets visitors download audio Highlights words in sync with narration Why I built it Most TTS plugins depend on expensive APIs,…

I built Whispering because I believe transcription is too fundamental a tool to be locked behind paywalls. It's a cross-platform desktop and web transcription app that turns speech into text with a keyboard shortcut, among other things. The app lets you bring your own API key (OpenAI, Groq, etc.) and make direct calls. If you want complete privacy, it also supports local transcription. Either way, your audio never goes through any middleman servers. It's super lightweight (~22MB), built with Svelte 5 and Tauri, and works on Mac, Windows, and Linux. I've been using it daily for the past few…

Hey, I'm Nick from Nutrient, I want to share our newly released MCP Server that enables document workflows using natural language — things like redacting, merging, signing, converting formats, or extracting data. While many MCP servers have traditionally been developer-focused, we recognized that the technology could be highly effective in promoting the adoption of tools that are often hidden from end-user interfaces. We’re really interested to see if this side of the protocol could continue to mature. One thing we struggled with was the inability to receive documents from the client (no…

I built a simple text-to-speech converter at texttospeech.site Free tier: 10 generations/day, standard voices, no account needed. Pro tier: Neural2 voices, 2000 chars, downloadable MP3s. Stack: Next.js, Google Cloud TTS API, Vercel. The $2 domain was an SEO experiment after my speechtotext.xyz satellite drove 22% of traffic to my main product. Curious if exact-match keyword domains still work for TTS searches. Feedback welcome — especially on voice quality and UX.

Hey HN! Have been working on Audentic, a platform that simplifies adding voice AI to your website. Think of it as a copy-paste voice assistant that you can embed directly into your site. Setting up voice AI has traditionally been a bit of a hassle, often requiring juggling multiple components like speech recognition, text processing, and text-to-speech systems. With Audentic, we've streamlined this into a more straightforward, end-to-end voice model. While OpenAI's Realtime API has made real-time, multimodal AI interactions more feasible, integrating these capabilities into a website can…

Hi HN, blockchain3d.info (http://blockchain3d.info) is a free 3D and VR Bitcoin Blockchain browser available for Windows, Android (with Google Cardboard for Virtual Reality), Linux and MacOS. The tool lets you enter a starting address or transaction, then navigate the Bitcoin network as far as you like (or as your hardware will allow, performance wise) to see inflows and outflows, all in 3D (or VR with Cardboard). Would love to hear feedback from HN folks!

Hi HN, Alexey from Chainstack here. We built Chainstack Self-Hosted to package everything we’ve learned from 8+ years of running blockchain nodes into a single control panel. The goal we’re building this product around is to make blockchain infrastructure boring to operate. The software is free to install. You only pay for the infrastructure you run it on. The quickest way to get hands-on with it is through the Vultr Marketplace or one of the other providers listed in the docs. The current release supports Ethereum Mainnet, Sepolia, and Hoodi with Reth + Prysm full nodes. We’ll be adding…

Hey guys, We are working on a kind of crypto-asset to be used to hold or represent things of value in centralised, blockchain-less transaction engines. It’s called Stone. Stone - http://stonedoc.org The future digital currencies aren’t all going to be blockchain-based, (https://howwegettonext.com/who-will-invent-the-money-of-tomorrow - Dave Birch) there is need for a way to better describe value. A method that allows holders of private digital currencies keep their assets out of the reach of the issuers and the platform in general. Stone is an attempt to meet this…
