Products that do what StackHound - Stop guessing repo's tech stack, analyze it in seconds does

If you’ve ever explored GitHub repos and felt frustrated by how little you can tell about a project’s real tech stack — you’re not alone. That’s exactly why I built StackHound https://www.producthunt.com/posts/stackhound It goes beyond the GitHub API to scan dependency files and uncover the actual tools, frameworks, and languages a repo uses — whether it's built with React, Next.js, Tailwind, Flask, or Spring Boot. Just drop in a GitHub username and repo to analyze it instantly. You can also use our /api/analyze endpoint to plug it into your own tools. Try the…

Since everyone seems to be making a github application, I thought I'd share mine. It's an aggregated view of all of a given person's github projects, as well as easyish lookups for linkedin/stackoverflow/hackernews. It attempts to determine both productivity (how much code did this person write?) as well as impact (did anyone care?) I'd love any feedback, but go easy on the number of simultaneous searches as I'm trying to play nice by github's api limits. check it -- http://www.gitalytics.com

Over the past few weeks I've been working on a small application to view trending repos on GitHub. I built the PWA[1] with React, Next.js and GraphQL .. but what's interesting is the application is only using React server side, meaning the client side javascript is only a few lines code adding some event listeners and registering a service worker for offline capability. This helped me achieve a perfect google chrome performance audit I learned a ton working on it and would love to talk about it if anyone has any questions! Several months ago, I built a "stealth" feature that I could use. It hasn't been advertised, and I've been the only user. As I find it useful for myself, I believe others (software developers) may like it too. So, this is the first public post about it, and if it gets any positive feedback, I may put some time into promoting it more. In essence, given that you've opened a GitHub repo (there are ~225k of the more popular ones indexed as of now), you can replace "github" with "libhunt" within the URL, and you will find the top alternatives and related projects. For example, here are three…

Hey HN - today I’m launching GitHired. A hiring platform that ranks developers based on what they actually build — not what they claim on a PDF. It’s called GitHired, and here’s the core idea: GitHub > Resumes Instead of trusting “proficient in React” bullet points, we analyze a candidate’s actual GitHub: their real tech stack their most complex projects how active they are what kinds of contributions they make which skills match your job description and yes, we detect fake “green square farming.” Why we built this Because engineering hiring is broken. Resumes are inflated. Activity charts…
