Hi HN, I got to work yesterday and today and came up with a very simple way to create and manage state in TinyJS. I end up creating a simple App to illustrate how to use the new createState function and custom components in a React like manner. Here's the code for it - https://github.com/victorqribeiro/tinyapp Here's the PR for the createState function - https://github.com/victorqribeiro/TinyJS/pull/9

I've been building a web UI library for a side project of mine. I thought it might be useful to others, so I'm releasing it as open source. To put it simply, I realized that most of my pain points with React come from its declarative model ui=f(state). So I'm trying something that I'm calling "imperative JSX." Instead of treating JSX as the source of truth for your UI, it essentially becomes a query interface for DOM manipulation. I first had the idea for it a few months ago, and only began writing it in earnest last week, so it's extremely early and nowhere near production-ready. Still, I'd…

I spent some time to build an NPM package about state management (another one, I know) for Next.js/React.js. Idea: Storing web application state in URL, It's a bright idea to use URI, but there isn't a simple and good implementation. Can save state of forms, or filters, users can reload page or share the link. Demo to play around: https://state-in-url-asmyshlyaev177.vercel.app/ What I wanted to achieve and why The World need another library: - Storing complex objects, e.g. any valid JSON with nested fields. - Focus on Developer Experience and simplicity, API similar to…

Next.js has APIs to read and update search params (the /?foo=bar part of the URL), but they lack type-safety for consistent keys and proper parsing/serializing of JS data types. I found myself repeatedly building the same custom hook to get a React.useState-like approach. In 2021, I published it to NPM and then forgot about it. Since then, the `nuqs` package has gained popularity and is now used by companies like Vercel, Auth.js, Gitbook, and Midday.ai, with 200K weekly downloads. It's been fun building this as a side project and automating as much as possible to ensure a…

After almost a year of development and iterating, we just released Legend-State 1.0. It's the fastest React state library and is very easy to use, based on Observables (Signals) with fine-grained reactivity and built-in persistence. I'd love to know what you think, and I'm also happy to answer any general JavaScript performance questions if you want since I've gone very deep into optimizing . https://github.com/LegendApp/legend-state
