We’ve built SQLRooms, an open-source framework for creating single-node data analytics apps powered by DuckDB. It lets you build fully client-side, data-centric apps using React and DuckDB running in the browser (via WebAssembly) or in Electron. No server or backend is required — apps can work offline, preserve data privacy, and run queries on large datasets with sub-second performance. Features: - Query large datasets in browser with DuckDB (WASM) - Modular design for building composable data UIs (query editors, dashboards, notebooks, etc.) - Data privacy-preserving AI assistant that can…

I'm building a privacy focused analytics tool, using WebAssembly and DuckDB. You can upload your files (CSV, JSON and Parquet), and interact with them as where they a SQL Server. Your data never leaves your computer, however I do track page views and visitors using Plausible. The next steps are to add forecasting and segmentation, as well as some data visualisation capabilities. I would love to hear your opinion. Hello Hacker News! We're a team of YC founders (Meldium W13, Draft S11, TapEngage S11) launching something new (https://www.getcensus.com). How many times has your business team asked you to generate yet another CSV file, write a ”quick report” in SQL, or send some custom data to a terrible API (looking at you Marketo)? We’ve built a product that connects directly to your data warehouse and syncs into apps like Salesforce, Customer.io and even Google Sheets. In fact, your business teams won’t even need to rely on engineering to manage all these pipelines. The tech stack for…

I posted this a few weeks ago and the server died under the traffic. Fixed that by adding an in-mem caching layer with Redis/valkey and added CloudFront caching for static content. Also upgraded the server. Also fixed the Firefox bugs, trying again. It's a research tool for US stocks. Financials for ~10k companies pulled from SEC filings. You can chart any metric across companies, filter news by ticker, ask questions in plain English and get a chart back. There's also SQL console against the whole database, which is the part I like to use together with the AI chat (generates an SQL…

Yet another "talk to your data and build a dashboard" app, where data does not leave your browser. You ask a question, agents produce multiple SQL queries to in-browser sqlite, never seeing results, and write dashboard configuration code. The data you analyze will be indexed with a local semantic index (embeddings generation + sqlite vector search fully local). Next, sandboxed QuickJS runs this code to produce rich dashboards directly in your browser, no backend attached. This is a fully frontend app (except OpenRouter or other remote LLM). All data sent to LLM's is heavily sanitized and…
