Products that do what Strange Whois Records for Major Sites does
Open your Terminal / Console / sh prompt and type the following: whois aol.com whois google.com whois microsoft.com ... etc. Can anyone explain why WHOIS/Verisign can't prevent this? I found some explanations but none of them made much sense.

I get at least one phishing text message every week, and discovered that reporting malicious domains was a major hassle. You have to first manually do a whois lookup, and since not every registrar includes an abuse contact email in their whois record, you often have to then go to the registrar's website and try to find their abuse reporting section before you can report the domain. I figured something had to exist already for reporting domains directly to their registrars, but I couldn't find anything, so I spun up DomainReporter mostly as a tool to use myself, but also to make the process…

The idea was to create a professional heads-up-display that you can use to see your connections all over the web. Namealong takes your query, pairs it up with 4000+ other words, suffixes, and prefixes, and shows you available .com domains by checking the ICANN zone file. That's fast, but semi-inaccurate, so when you hover over or click on domain names, an additional WHOIS check is done to verify availability. If this all sounds familiar, Lean Domain Search used to do this exact same thing, but earlier this year they added .blog domains to the search results with no way to filter them out, making the tool basically useless for .com searches.

Every now and then I see these posts where people post the domains they purchased for XYZ side project that is clearly not happening. But considering how difficult it can be to find a good name, its always nice to see what people are willing to part with. Post your domains!
