Sharing an internal tool that accelerated my development work 10-fold, especially with API debugging. Thought fellow developers here might find it useful. As a developer, I often have trouble reproducing errors at the client end. https://intercept.rest lets me debug and monitor API requests and responses. It is similar to the Network tab in Chrome Developer Tools but works for any API: mobile apps, webhooks, frontend etc. After I shared it with a close circle of friends, they found it incredibly useful and even found new use cases, I never imagined. Been a long time lurker here and…

Hey HN! I’m Collin, a 20 year old law student from Amsterdam. I built Cited AI, an AI that gives accurate and verifiable answers from your documents/context. As a law student who uses AI a lot, I know how important it is that answers are actually accurate and verifiable. I remember many instances where I'd ask a chatbot like ChatGPT or Claude about case law or long documents, and it would either hallucinate facts that didn't exist, or fail to give me the exact passages from my source documents so I could verify its answers. Even when specifically asking for exact quotes, finding that…

I built an open-source research agent. You ask a question, it searches the web via Tavily, synthesizes an answer with an LLM, and shows the sources it used. Answers stream in real-time. The interesting part is the backend. It's a single JS file (~100 lines) that handles web search, LLM streaming, and per-user conversation history. No vector database, no Redis, no separate storage service. It runs inside a cell — an isolated environment with a built-in database, search index, and filesystem. The cell handles persistence and streaming natively, so the agent code only has to deal with the…

I tend to use AI to brainstorm domain names, but I kept wasting time pasting each idea into Namecheap to see if they were available. So I built DotComBuddy - it generates ideas (using DeepSeek V3 - switched from GPT-4o after realizing quality was just as good) and checks availability in real time via Name.com’s API. Built with Next.js and Vercel’s AI SDK, the app gives you a table of available domains with their price. 10 free searches to try it out, then $9/year (what I’d pay to never do this manually again). Sharing this for anyone else tired of switching tabs to check domains. Happy…
