I wrote this tool while debugging a driver because I couldn't find a tool that allowed me to open a file, seek randomly, and read and write. I thought it might one day be useful to someone too.

After having cycled through various CLI-based todo apps, I started to realise that I actually don’t need a tool at all for managing my todos. Most of the time, my use cases are quite simple, like viewing my todo items, checking them off, or adding a new one. There are multiple programs for working with log files, both inside and outside of the terminal. These tools are feature rich and functional and offer lots of control to the user. However, a lot of the time I found myself just opening raw log files in `less`. I enjoy the simplicity of quickly skimming through the logs, but it was difficult when the wall of text was in one color. I built a Rust-based CLI/terminal UI for inspecting Parquet files—data, metadata, and row-group-level structure—right from the terminal. pypipe is a command-line tool for writing data pipelines in Python. When working with data processing in the terminal, I often find myself wanting to pass the output of commands to Python for further processing. In such cases, one can either write one-liners or create regular Python scripts and connect them through pipes. However, using pypipe makes this process more convenient and efficient.

I wrote a little LD_PRELOAD library that makes it easy to inspect and interact with a running program's glibc heap. It's fun to pause processes, free a bunch of their allocations, then resume them. Most of the time, the processes continue as though nothing happened, but sometimes they do interesting things :)

I wrote this because I needed to search a lot of files, including some archives, for files in a date range but couldn't find any good tools. Also I never liked find's option syntax. I think most people already know SQL (or at least it's easier to learn) and a much better match for this task.
