Products that do what Tech jobs on the command line does

Hi HN! I'm Nico and lately I've been struggling looking for jobs. I've gotten specially frustrated with having to spend hours reading through listings just to find good matches. So I built something to scratch my own itch: Command Jobs, a terminal-based job finder and application tracker designed specifically for me, and maybe also software engineers The app scrapes web listings, saves them, processes them with GPT[1], then based on your resume and job preferences, it gives you the best matches This is my first open source project, and also my first public project using LLMs I'm really…

Hey folks. Rolepad is a product born out of my dissatisfaction with hiring processes - both as a candidate and as a hiring manager. Processes that are non-transparent, inefficient, and full of frustration for both sides. This early iteration has focused on the application tracking aspects with a few extra goodies. These days it is common to apply to dozens of positions (some users track over a hundred opportunities). Without a record-keeping system, it can quickly become an unmanageable mess. Even the better-organized among us often end up juggling spreadsheets, emails, and various notes.…

There are existing HN job aggregators, but I thought we could take it a step further. Inspired by an insightful comment on a previous thread (https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=36163021), I built a tool that aggregates job postings and intelligently categorizes them based on user-specific preferences: * Country and remote work preferences * Employer type (e.g., startup, corporation, government) * Industry * Technologies used * Role type (developer, architect, product owner, etc.) * Salary range (where available) One of the superpowers of LLMs is reformatting information from…

Based on the multiple "Who's hiring remotely?" and similar posts on HN, I thought it might be useful to have a site that aggregates remote programming jobs. There is way too much spam out and an inconsistent way to say "work from home" so traditional searching doesn't work (or rather, takes a long time per person). I've worked in a few remote programming positions so I figured I might know of some companies or searching tricks to find them. Let me know if you'd find this type of thing useful. If we can get some traffic going, then maybe we can start attracting companies to actually list…

My friend and I got tired of job hunting (347 applications, 4 responses) so we built AI agents to help job seekers instead of replacing them. The problem: 73% of applications never reach humans, 250+ people apply to each job, but 85% of positions are filled through networking. Our solution: AI agents that find hiring managers for any LinkedIn job, analyze your profile fit, and generate personalized outreach messages. Instead of competing with hundreds in the application pile, you reach decision-makers directly. Technical bits: LangChain + OpenAI for job parsing, Next.js + Supabase, custom…
