I made a tetris variant Aims to remove all stress, and focus the game on what I like the best - stacking. No timer, no score, no gravity. Move to the next piece when you are ready, and clear lines when you are ready. Separate mobile + desktop controls

Hello HN! You can read this [1] blog post if you want to know more about some ideas that I have for this thing. This is just an experiment right now, there isn't any real game (yet). Any feedback would be appreciated, do you think this could become something that would be fun to play? [1] https://unit520.net/posts/dead-trees-an-absurdist-block-layi...

About a year ago me and a buddy joined Google's HTML5GameJam, a game building hackathon. Finally I've had the time to dust the project off, upgrade some of the required libraries (node.js bumped from 0.4.2 to 0.8.11 in the meantime) and did some minor patching to get it done for some finishing touches and hopefully release somewhere this year. We implemented the full real Tetris® (yeah, that means T-Spins and funky stuff Tetris addicts like) in MVC, with configurable renderers (canvas, ASCII, Divs), input methods (keyboard, swipe, touch), 2player split mode and offline singeplayer. The…

I was playing around with a vanilla JavaScript Tetris implementation someone posted, tetris-on-a-plane, learning and recreating it from scratch to sharpen my JavaScript skills. I thought it would also be fun to sharpen up my React skills a little. So I re-implemented Tetris on a Plane in React. I found it really helpful to see a vanilla js app, and then the same thing broken into components and implemented in React, maybe you will too! Regardless, I learned a lot re-implementing it. Hey everyone! I just released v1.0.0 of gomponents last week. It's an HTML component builder in pure Go, with a DSL-like HTML syntax. It's been 4 years in the making, and makes it really easy to build HTML in your web apps.

OFRAK Tetris is a project I started at work about two weeks ago. It's a web-based game that works on desktop and mobile. I made it for my company to bring to events like DEF CON, and to promote our binary analysis and patching framework called OFRAK. In the game, 32-bit, little-endian ARM assembly instructions fall, and you can modify the operands before executing them on a CPU emulator. There are two segments mapped – one for instructions, and one for data (though both have read, write, and execute permissions). Your score is a four byte signed integer stored at the virtual address pointed…

I've posted this game here before, hopefully a repost is fine as the game has changed quite a bit (improved AI, improved mapeditor, much quicker gameplay, etc). Game is based on JavaScript/Canvas and WebSockets. On the browser side the map is pre-rendered (as a background image), just the mobile units/buildings and animations are dynamically rendered. The lobby server is made in node.js, but the game server is C++ for performance reasons (mainly the pathfinding). I found the C++ WebSocket libraries out there to be too difficult to use so I made my own based on the rfc. Overall I…
