Hello Hacker News! Long time reader but first time poster here... Recently I've been diving into doing mods for Cities: Skylines 2, which been very interesting as it's one of the first games that is using ECS and that I also have a deep interest into. I've mainly used ECS via Bevy before, but this time it's Unity, but many things still work the same way. In order to help myself and other modders to navigate the ECS Systems and Components from the decompiled code, I created this interactive D3 graph. You can click on nodes to "navigate" to that system/component, and once you're zoomed in…

This is something that I've been working on on-and-off in my spare time for the last few years. I started in 2020 during Covid trying to do a Mount and Blade style map in UE4, and it grew from there until where it is now - I would just add a feature, then another, until it came together. Since the start of the year I've really been trying to polish it some more. I've got the full thing planned for a Q3 25 release. I grew up on the Infocom games and when microsoft actually open-sourced Zork 1/2/3 I really wanted to figure out how to use LLMs to let you type whatever you want, I always found the amount language that the games "understood" to be so limiting - even if it was pretty state of the art at the time. So I figured out how to wrap it with Tambo.. (and run the game engine in the browser) basically whatever you type gets "translated" into zork-speak and passed to the game - and then the LLM takes the game's output and optionally adds flavor. (the little ">_" button at the top exposes the…

I don't normally share side projects here(or in general). Don't have much time to open them up to too much attention. I started this project while riding in a car last weekend. Mainly to explore OpenAI Codex. Using Github mobile I wrote the initial specifications into the readme, and using the ChatGPT iOS app, had Codex build a simple CLI based dungeon master. Switched back to Github for managing the PRs and back and forth for the whole car ride... It kinda got a little out of hand from there, and it's now a mix of AI(mostly AI) and myself making adjustments... The first version was entirely…

We have launched our startup: MMO strategy game that can be played in your browser. Not very unique from first sound, but the fun hides in the gameplay which tries to blend RTS and web strategy genres. Feedback on the site design and game impressions are very welcome! Some of game features include: * Powerful trading system that allows people to exchange in-game currency (creds) for game resources. * Real-time real-world based movement system that allows players to interact while travelling, making our game akin to classic RTS genre. This also allows interesting gameplay possibilities like…
