Products that do what Thriftled – DoorDash for local thrift stores (books and clothes first) does
My cofounder and I noticed that thrift stores were still offline, and no one had tried to solve delivery for secondhand items the way DoorDash did for food. We built Thriftled, which lists inventory from local thrift stores, lets users shop online, and handles delivery. No warehouses, no massive ops overhead — stores ship directly, and we handle the UX, payments, and logistics. We're testing with books and clothes from Value Village and a few independents. Would love your thoughts on the model, tech stack, and growth ideas.

I had this idea rolling around in my head for the last couple of years, and I finally decided to build the damned thing just to get idea relief. The backend is a typical LAMP stack with the Symfony2 framework backing the P. Varnish sits in front of all the Chef managed Linode boxes. The site will work without Javascript (up until the checkout), and the style degrades really nicely depending on your viewport (try it out by resizing your browser). I'm open to all comments and critiques, so let me hear them. And if you are into graphic t-shirts, here is a code for a Hacker News 20% discount:…

Hi Guys, I made a simple platform to buy/sell side projects. Current solutions are over complicated so I decided to make things simpler. Let me know your what you think about this. https://secondfounder.com

Hey HN, A pattern I realized when I shopped for anything online is that by the end of my shopping session, I would accumulated over 15+ tabs. It's so easy to click on "Open in New Tab" that I figured other people have this issue as well.

Hi HN! A little over two years ago, Goodreads announced they were shutting off access to their API. I was using it to show what I was reading on my blog at the time, and started looking for alternatives. I found a few that showed potential. I'd been using Letterboxd for a few years at that point and felt it had something that was missing from GR and the others I found, but I couldn't put my finger on it. I decided to build it instead (I'm sure many creators can relate ). I made a post on the /r/cofounders subreddit about the idea, and found Ste. With me as a full-stack product dev…

Hey there, I’m building blnkfabrics.com Think of it as a Costco for apparel, pay a yearly membership and get the best prices on high quality clothes with no weird logos or designs. The apparel is typically sold at cost+10%(to cover handling and logistics) Site is almost finished, technically is fully operational meaning you can buy the membership right now and the orders will fulfill, but need to fix some factors(landing page, copy, favicon, etc.) Also make sure to check the FAQ page, will answer most questions. If there are other questions you think I should answer let me know Would love…

I was inspired by Feross Aboukhadijeh's instant search for YouTube, so I took the latest Etsy API and built an instant search for them. I'd love it if you'd try it out and let me know what you think. It is at http://www.glancely.com/ I really hope it doesn't need an explanation, but start typing what you're looking for. I used tags on the listings (among other things) to fuel my suggestions. Click a color to filter on those listings, click to sort on price. Click again to deselect. I've tested on the latest Firefox, Chrome and IE on Windows and Safari on an iPad. You will need JavaScript to…
