Votizen is working to remove the influence of money in politics by making political decision-making more peer-to-peer. We're using Twitter and our API to pull tweets from only registered voters, and showing how the discussion breaks down among the parties. This has never been done before as far as I know, not even by the major media outlets. Please check it out and let me know what you think. If people are interested, we'll work to improve it for the further debates and campaigns.

Polimorphic.com is a civic media platform that organizes the complicated and frustrating political landscape into the palm of your hand. We started Polimorphic as college students who were frustrated by how hard it was to stay up to date on politicians who represented us and what the government was doing on issues we cared about. To us the fact that we knew our favorite athletes' stats down to the most granular details, but didn't even know what our local representative had voted on in the past year was shocking. On Polimorphic you get no-nonsense, untampered political updates on votes,…

Hey HN I’ve been thinking a lot about barriers to civic participation. Most people don’t show up to town halls. They don’t respond to traditional surveys. And a lot of online political spaces feel loud, adversarial, or exhausting. So I started wondering what happens if you make participation radically lightweight. That’s where Civie comes in. Each day you answer one to three short civic questions. It takes under a minute. Responses are anonymous. Results are shown only in aggregate. Over time, those responses accumulate into an open dataset anyone can explore. This isn’t scientific polling,…

Built this as a toy project to understand knowledge graphs by tackling a real problem: traditional RAG fails badly on legal documents because it misses interconnections between sections. The system actually combines both approaches on every query - gets semantic matches via TF-IDF, retrieves structural relationships from Neo4j, then feeds both contexts to OpenAI for comprehensive answers. Used the Indian Income Tax Act as test data since legal documents have natural graph structures. Queries like "What sections reference Section 80C?" get both the reference network AND content explanations.…
