Tenno is a web app that lets you create Markdown documents that can include computational cells. You can think of it as a mix of Word and Excel, some sort of "literate programming" environment. I often need simple text tools (e.g. diffing, epoch time conversion, number base conversion) and was frustrated that I couldn't find a simple option that was as fast as I wanted. Many (SEO-optimized) websites exist, but they unnecessarily send your input to their servers. I used tools like DevToys but their diff has been broken on Mac for a while [1] and it requires installing an app, and CyberChef is good but requires too many interactions (yes, I'm picky). Hey hacker news, I've worked on a note/wiki app nights and weekends for almost two years. While still missing some essentials and polish, I'm happy with the progress and some of my use cases: personal CRM, work notes, and a place to write/record funny things my kid says. I bought into the hype a few years ago with linking apps but quickly grew tired of spinners and steep learning curves, so I started over with a text box and my HTML skills from twenty years ago. I don't know Rust. Friday after work I realised that 90% of my IDE time now is just the commit/diff view — and even good IDEs feel heavy for that. So over the weekend I built a dedicated native tool for just that. Kyde is a macOS git commit + diff editor with one goal: be fast, do Git well. I'm curious whether anyone else mostly opens their IDE for git operations these days. It's open source, and there's a signed app in Releases.
