Hi HN, I am a solopreneur in the evenings and a software engineer during the day. In the past, I have created lots of calculators for my web projects and freelancing friends. These were pretty basic, but users always welcomed them. I also used currently available builders, but the problem was that they were either slow, broke on mobile devices, had nonsense page view limits, or were expensive. Some even ticked all those boxes. So I have decided to create my own, with a simple interface, and called it Creative Widgets (if it ever takes off, I plan to add more exciting stuff like charts, etc,…

Hi All, I felt like I was re-inventing the wheel by bolting similar channel architectures onto different Go structs repeatedly so I decided to extract some common types into into one library so that they would be easier to re-use: - oneshot - spsc - spmc - mpsc - mpmc - broadcast - watch The types are inspired by Rust channels so if you're coming from Rust they should feel familiar. So far I'm really enjoying using them but it'd be great to get some external feedback if you have time! https://github.com/amorey/gochan Andres

Hi HN! I've been tinkering on a programmatically controlled typewriter. I've got a working prototype and it's been a lot of fun to play with. Of course I connected it to ChatGPT so I can chat with it, and I also have it acting as a clock, but it doesn't just type out the time. It writes a poem about the time. I'm posting this to gauge interest in purchasing one. It's all handmade, so I can't scale it up, but if enough people are into it, I might make a small batch. Or maybe sell it as a kit for the DIY crowd. Anyway, just wanted to put it out there and see what you all think. Thanks for…

In the context of a production line, the role of a project management tool is to maintain efficiency in the process. The next step of optimisation is to continuously identify and improve the machines involved. I am building Shram for humans with this in mind. I would love your feedback to build this into something that could replace your current tool! Thank you! :)

Hey HN, I have been working on this for a few months and recently open sourced my work. It’s a code playground where you can write TypeScript based code and the bundled runtime will execute it visually. Here are some examples that you can try right away: Hello world https://app.metz.sh/template/2 Average stock price(Event based system) https://app.metz.sh/template/7 A polling setup(Shows parallel flows) https://app.metz.sh/template/4 There are more on the readme https://github.com/metz-sh/simulacrum#examples I…

As a beginner learning to build ML models, I found it annoying to have to keep printing tensor shapes every other line, having to step through the debugger to check where did I mess up the shapes again. So I built Trickle, it takes the data that flows through your code, caches the types and display them inline (as if you have type annotations). The idea is: "Let types trickle from runtime into your IDE". You get types in Python without having the write them manually. It works by rewriting your Python AST at import time — after every variable assignment, it inserts a lightweight call that…

A fun little game idea I had last year after building a personal kb based bit manipulator to have a better sense of the binary space. All sounds and graphics are my own.

Hello, we're the Treenix team. We're building typed low-code runtime where humans and agents collaborate to build applications and workflows. Write a simple TypeScript class with methods, and Treenix automatically delivers admin interface, storage, API and MCP, access rules, UI form and audit trail. Views in Treenix are reactive, data-bound, and synced across all clients. They also support display contexts: data can render differently depending on the situation — a table in one place, a list in another. You can register multiple Views for the same data type, and the view engine picks the…
