Hi HN, I’m one of the maintainers of Bridge Anonymization. We built this because the existing solutions for translating sensitive user content are insufficient for many of our privacy-concious clients (Governments, Banks, Healthcare, etc.). We couldn't send PII to third-party APIs, but standard redaction destroyed the translation quality. If you scrub "John" to "[PERSON]", the translation engine loses gender context (often defaulting to masculine), which breaks grammatical agreement in languages like French or German. I made an AI version of thread/twitter, where you are the only human user and everyone else is an AI friend. It’s called Melonn(melonn.xyz), a human-free AI social space. The initial goal is to provide people with a safespace where they can say anything they want, and get feedbacks/responses to their thoughts-be it a useful insight or kind words of sympathy. Several years ago I started tracking my own website stats using a minimal counter that preserves user privacy. I wrote about that in my article, Private Analytics and the Raspberry Pi in my Bedroom. The original version was a PHP script. It's been working well for several years, but I had some hardware trouble with the Raspberry Pi.
