I know everyone is a bit burned out on blockchain and cryptocurrency related stuff around these parts, but I've been working on as a side project for the last few months and thought you guys might be interested: https://cryptoempire.io/ It's still a bit buggy and incomplete (the mobile ux needs a lot of work, the leaderboard isn't functional yet, etc.), but I've reached a point where I'm not totally ashamed of sharing it :) Any feedback would be most welcome!

We're two software geeks trying to build our own trading simulator app for beginners which could teach some basics of technical analysis and won't be too boring. You can join the early test program here if interested: https://threeinvesteers.com/ Do you think this is a decent idea? So far we've solved the main technical challenges and built a solid backend solution for real-time prices, and also got the first feedback regarding the concept from some early users. We've polished the idea slightly using the feedback but still have some open questions. Would be great to hear your…

Hi HN, I am a solopreneur in the evenings and a software engineer during the day. In the past, I have created lots of calculators for my web projects and freelancing friends. These were pretty basic, but users always welcomed them. I also used currently available builders, but the problem was that they were either slow, broke on mobile devices, had nonsense page view limits, or were expensive. Some even ticked all those boxes. So I have decided to create my own, with a simple interface, and called it Creative Widgets (if it ever takes off, I plan to add more exciting stuff like charts, etc,…

Hi, I'm Robert Karl, a software engineer, cryptocurrency trader, and creator of CBR ( https://CostBasis.Report/ ). I wanted to report gains from trading to tax authorities, but found existing crypto-tax solutions were not great. There are some very fully featured tax solutions out there. I believe there is even a YC company that can solve this problem. However, I found that for my use case, which includes less than 100 trades, the existing sites would charge me between $150 and $800 for a handful of PDFs. I wasn't sure that made sense given the server-side costs to generate…

Hey all, I'm a product designer and I built this cause' when I was designing liquidity pool and staking features for this DAO, I didn't know how the user flow worked and how the UI looked for similar pages, so I was constantly switching back and forth Balancer, Uniswap, and OlympusDAO as references. I thought that I might not be the only one with this problem, so I built this library of userflow screenshots, and annotated them, to share with the web3 community of builders, designers, and developers. Would love feedback if you're a builder in web3, let's connect too! (Also I'm aware that…

Hey HN, I started my career as a finance manager, transitioned into product management, and now I’m building my own products. Back in my finance days, while managing a £6M budget, I uncovered a £15k leak hiding in plain sight: FX fees. Today, I see solo founders making the exact same mistake. I realised most founders are quietly losing 2-5% of their revenue to what I call the Lazy Tax: - Stripe's ~2% auto-conversion fee on inbound revenue, - plus their local bank's ~3% spread when paying for global SaaS tools (AWS, Claude, Ads). So I built FixMyFX to show founders their exact leak and how to…

Hey HN, I just released Tradofire, a crypto trading app I built using a lot of cursor chatgpt and claude for over a year. The main idea of the app is very simple - to swipe on pre-prepared trading setups (like tinder) and if you right swipe it opens a position. The execution of this simple idea was much more complex and tbh I could not have done it without AI. Here's a quick rundown of the main features: Swipe-to-Trade UI: Quickly initiate long or short positions with intuitive swipe gestures. Real-Time Trade Signals: Get curated crypto signals from the market delivered proactively, helping…

hey hey! I'm the co-founder of squads -- a product that makes it easy to see what your friends and top investors are doing in web3. This product was developed out my own frustration trying to get more involved in web3. One of the greatest challenges in the crypto space is figuring out where to start. For some of us, we're lucky to have a friend who can serve as a guide, and we wanted to build a product that would make introducing your friends to crypto a more inviting experience. There is so much alpha and information living on Twitter + Discord, but the problem is finding the signal from…

Hi everyone, we recently launched our cryptocurrency pricing site we have been working on for a few months: https://chainsage.com Currently we are aggregating data from 200+ exchanges for 2000+ assets. Being cryptocurrency enthusiasts and investors ourselves, we were frustrated with the lack of filtering/sorting options existing providers of similar data had. For example, here's a live dashboard of assets with at least $100k in trading volume and a 10%+ USD price increase in the last 24 hours:…

Hello HN. I built my own automated Bitcoin trading bot and noticed that many others want to do the same thing, but lack the coding skills required for the harder stuff, like order execution and backtesting. I like the idea of making automated trading more accessible to existing day traders as well as newcomers. Hopefully this will also inspire some people to learn to code. We’re currently in private beta, but please check out the site below. Feedback is more than welcome. http://tradewave.net

Hello everyone. I'm a relatively new developer and I started my first project to go full production recently. It is a directory of payment processors and payment service providers. It's free to use and gives detailed info on their pricing, business model, supported business types, available countries, prohibited businesses and high risk business support. So far only 40 have been added with more to come. And I allow processors to contact me so that they're details can be added to the database. I'll eventually automate this and add verification the months to come. I hope you'll find it useful.…

I built this simple Chrome extension to always see how much I can pay myself based on my Stripe income. So now when I open my Stripe dashboard, I always see how much I can pay myself. How it works is pretty simple. You create a read-only Stripe API key (this key stays on your laptop), the widget gets the last 3 months of your revenue to calculate an average, and then you can specify your monthly expenses and adjust a tax and buffer %. Then you get a nice card that shows you how much you can pay yourself this month. It's fully open source under an MIT license. Please let me know if you have…

I use multiple AI tools for work and also my side projects, and the annoying part was to track my costs and token usage across tools. Everytime I had to visit each tool and its respective usage setting to check it and I was losing patience and also was getting hit by surprise limits Now I know that there are already free/open-source trackers for Cursor or Claude usage, and they are useful if that is all you need. My problem is broader as I wanted one small place to see tokens, spend, subscriptions and limits across the AI tools I actually use. I was really tired of switching tabs and…
