24 alternatives to Uploads.sh – the missing upload command for coding agents (open-source)

Agents take screenshots long before a pull request exists, and GitHub

Uploads.sh is an open-source command-line tool designed for coding agents to handle file uploads. It provides a missing upload functionality that integrates with agent workflows. The tool is intended for developers and… Below are 24 products that do a similar job, ranked by how close each is in meaning and then by launch-day votes. I originally was just messing with pi-autoresearch. Gave it a sample task to build the most portable coding agent. First cut was 6 KB of shell. Great for one-shots, unusable interactively. I was shocked it actually worked. Started building up -- adding features — but with a self-imposed rule: no new dependencies, and sub 500 LOC. This thing had to be truly portable. Just sh, curl, awk. System primitives only. Which means I did some genuinely disgusting things in awk, including JSON parsing and the OpenAI Responses tool loop with reasoning items carried across turns. It's now ~400 lines. In…

Hi HN, excited to be sharing this with you guys today. TL;DR: Bullet is a fast coding agent. At our company, we were burning hours waiting on agent runs. The models weren’t the problem. The agent loops around them were slow (unnecessary planning, oversized context, repeated searches, and serial tool calls). So we built Bullet as a passion project, the goal being to help you iterate faster, without giving up quality: - It automatically selects the model and reasoning level for each prompt. - It runs independent searches, reads, and commands in parallel. - It uses targeted code search instead…

The pattern of downloading and executing installation scripts without verifying them has bothered me for a while. I started messing around with a way to verify the checksum of scripts before I execute them. I've found it a really useful tool for installing things like Rust or Deno. It's written entirely as a shell script, and it's easy to read and understand what's happening. I hope it may be useful to someone else!

This project is a tool for engineers who live in the terminal and are tired of losing their command history to ephemeral servers or fragmented `.bash_history` files. If you’re jumping between dozens of boxes, many of which might be destroyed an hour later, your "local memory" (the history file) is essentially useless. This tool builds a centralized, permanent brain for your shell activity, ensuring that a complex one-liner you crafted months ago remains accessible even if the server it ran on is long gone. The core mechanism wants to be a "zero-touch" capture that happens at the connection…

Hello! We just released freeact (https://github.com/gradion-ai/freeact), a lightweight agent library that empowers language models to act as autonomous agents through executable code actions. By enabling agents to express their actions directly in code rather than through constrained formats like JSON, freeact provides a flexible and powerful approach to solving complex, open-ended problems that require dynamic solution paths. * Supports dynamic installation and utilization of Python packages at runtime * Agents learn from feedback and store successful code actions as…
