Yes, it's open source: https://github.com/lissy93/web-check :) Why I'm building this? There are a lot of tools out there for discovering meta and security data relating to a website, IP or server. But currently, there isn't anything that does everything, all in one place and without a paywall/ user sign up. It's still a WIP, and I'm working on a new version, with some more comprehensive checks, so any feedback would be much appreciated :)

I built this as a personal open-source project to explore how EU AI Act requirements can be translated into concrete, inspectable technical checks. The core idea is local-first compliance: – risk classification (Articles 5–15, incl. prohibited use cases) – bias evaluation using CrowS-Pairs – automatic Annex IV–oriented PDF reports – no cloud services or external APIs (browser-based + Ollama) I’m especially interested in feedback on whether this kind of technical framing of AI regulation makes sense in real-world projects.

While I love the EU's new data privacy regulation from a user's perspective, it's a nightmare for businesses to achieve compliance, because of the (sometimes intentionally) vague language of the law. And even if you pay an experienced lawyer to draft the policies and procedures required by GDPR, there's a very real residual risk of predatory law firms collecting penalties from mass-mailed cease-and-desist letters based on technicalities. Even if your business isn't located within the EU, you are required to comply with GDPR because the location of the user matters. I've built a tool that…

it's satire. You add one script tag and if you're in the EU it traps you in cookie banners you can't get out of. The reject button moves when you try to click it. the legitimate interest toggles turn themselves back on. the privacy policy is 47 pages. at the end you have to prove you're not american by clicking 27 buttons, one per country, in the local language. GET /v1/europeans returns a real 451. every banner is an actual EU law. the bottle caps that won't come off. the €16 tax stamp you buy from a tobacco shop in italy... next.js + sqlite, one file, self hosted. the redirect.js…
