Hey HN, We built ADBWrench – a browser-based ADB tool that connects to Android devices via WebUSB. No SDK install, no drivers, no PATH config. Just plug in and debug. The problem: Every Android dev knows the friction of setting up adb. Install platform-tools, fight with USB drivers (especially on Windows), hope `adb devices` shows something. Then remember the exact syntax for that one command you need. ADBWrench runs entirely in the browser. Open the URL, grant USB permission, done. The interesting part: There's an AI assistant built in. Describe what you want to do in plain English – "show…

Hi HN, I’m Rajiv, a software engineer turned Math teacher living in the mountains, where I like to slow down life while still building useful software. I recently built DroidDock, a lightweight and modern macOS desktop app that lets you browse and manage files on your Android device via ADB. After 12 years in software development, I wanted a free, clean, and efficient tool because existing solutions were either paid, clunky, or bloated. Features include multiple view modes, thumbnail previews for images/videos, intuitive file search, file upload/download, and keyboard shortcuts.…

There are lots of RTL-SDR applications, but you have to install them. I used the HTML5 USB API that exists in Chrome (did you know about it?) to build one that you can run straight from your browser, on your computer or your Android phone.

Been working on an experimental Chromium-based browser that brings 2 major features to your phone/tablet: 1. desktop-style extensions: natively install any extensions (like uBO) from the chrome web store, just toggle "desktop site" in the menu first. 2. privacy/security hardening: applies the full patch sets from Vanadium (with Helium's currently wip). Means you get both browsers' excellent privacy features, like Vanadium's webrtc IP policy option that protects your real IP by default, and security improvements such as JIT being disabled by default, all while being a reasonably…

Been working on a desktop app for Mac that lets you create web flows and rerun them (https://www.donobu.com/). You can optionally use AI (BYOK: bring your own keys) to create flows for you and to do other interesting things, like making vision-based semantic assertions. Also, your data lives on your own filesystem, and we do not see any of it (further still, there is no phoning home at all). A nice benefit of this being a desktop app rather than a SAAS product, is that if you happen to be developing/iterating on a webpage locally, this has no problem hooking into it. What…
