Hi HN! I made a really quick web app to help people validate their ideas. The app is a simple landing page builder, but every page includes a really simple Yes/No "Are You Interested?" poll. Every vote is recorded and tracked, and if they click yes they are brought to a page where they can submit an email. This makes validating ideas super easy because you can post your link to different communities and get statistically significant results as well as build an email list. I got fed up with the news reader apps out there so I decided to make my own. Its a simple concept where it tracks all your favorite news sources for new posts and the social shares it received. Then it ranks it HN/Reddit style using social shares as upvotes. It's not meant to be alternative to HN, just a focused way to track your favorite sources. I built this app because I really enjoyed "Pulse" but I felt it lacked a few things. I wanted a web-based version, I wanted my news articles grouped together by topic, and I wanted an easy way to share with other people. It is early in the site's life, so somethings are missing, including the critical mobile app. If you have any feedback to give, it would be appreciated!

I’m specifically looking for a tool a user shared on here that facilitated writing for content by scrolling up and disappearing text as new text was inputted. I believe it was a HTML/JSS only solution - a small personal project. I’ve done a lot of focused searches, but haven’t been able to find this comment. That said, I love these sorts of projects. I know they’re a self-indulgence and often a distraction. I’m celebrating that for a moment, personally. Please share your favorites writing tools, the smaller and more personal the better.
