Wu.js is a JavaScript library that provides higher order functions like map, filter, and reduce for ECMAScript 6 iterators. It enables developers to work with streams of data using lazy and infinite sequences. Hey HN, I'd like to share a fun project I've been working on: mizu.js. It's a js library that add functional attributes support into your html, designed to be a simple and flexible alternative to fully-fledged web frameworks (such as Vue, React, and Angular), while offering more capabilities than other lightweight options (like Alpine.js and htmx). As it's written using modern ES features and due to its isomorphic nature, it can be run in both browsers and runtimes (Node, Deno, Bun) without any changes. This makes it ideal for client-side and server-side rendering, as well as static site…

Hi HN! I thought you might enjoy this even if you don't know much about Elixir. `es6_maps` is a small library that introduces a "shorthand" map creation syntax, similar to shorthand object construction in JavaScript/TypeScript. For those unfamiliar with Elixir, the most interesting aspect might be how it achieves this. `es6_maps` takes advantage of BEAM (Erlang's VM) hot-reload capabilities to amend the Elixir compiler bytecode at runtime, adding functions that expand the shorthand syntax for further compilation. I think it's a nice showcase of the power you can wield (with care) when…

Hi all, I've made a javascript library to simplify searching/sorting/filtering in arrays of objects. Its inspired by both GraphQL and SQL, but implemented using javascript Proxies. Instead of creating a new language, its all just javascript. I've made it as part of an experimental database, which uses javascript as the query engine. The normal javascript map/reduce/sort functions are quite difficult to master for junior developers. JAQT is easier to explain, and can still be used in combination with any existing array functions. Please let me know what you think of the…

Hey HN! Roughly 4 years ago I started building a lazy functional iteration library for JS/TS. I had a few goals for the library: - Supporting sync, sequential async, and concurrent async iteration - Limiting it to a small number of orthogonal concepts that compose beautifully to solve problems - Making it fully tree-shakeable I built it for myself and have (mostly) been its only user as I refined it. I've used it in lots of personal projects and really enjoyed it. I recently decided it would be nice to spread that enjoyment so I created a documentation website complete with a playground…

Hi! Leporello.js is an interactive functional programming environment designed for pure functional subset of JavaScript. It executes code instantly as you type and displays results next to it. Leporello.js also features an omnipresent debugger. Just position your cursor on any line or select any expression, and immediately see its value. Leporello.js visualizes a dynamic call tree of your program. Thanks to the data immutability in functional programming, it allows you to navigate the call tree both forward and backward, offering a time-travel-like experience. Leporello.js offers the ability…
