Hi HN! Since Youtube no longer allows AdBlockers, I built my own extension to get around their video ads. If there is an ad it temporarily manipulates the video; Mutes the volume, sets speed to 10x, and skips it if there is a button. Hi HN, I watch A LOT of educational YouTube videos but wasn't forgetting a good chunk of the details because I was only really passively watching. So I made a tool that generates quiz questions/flashcards from YouTube videos, and uses spaced repetition like Anki or Duolingo to keep it in memory. Hi everyone, I built this recently and found myself and my friends using it for various different things so I figured I'd share it here. It uses LLMs to answer queries from videos so you don't have to watch them yourself! Each video found is also included with a summary of its transcript for further exploration.
