Products that do what YouTube Channel to GPT [open-source] does
Easily collect all transcriptions from a YouTube channel to create your own custom GPT (via OpenAI) or querying a large context window (Claude 2.1) The example is “CY GPT” your very own Sichael Miebel and Calton Daldwell in your pocket. I have a backlog of open-source projects, hope this helps!! This is counter intuitive (as I’m posting this) but please respect the creators copyright and use for research purposes only

Hey HN! I built Transcrib.ee to help me generate transcripts for lectures on YouTube with no captions, especially multilingual lectures. I was constantly frustrated with videos that had no transcripts or inaccurate ones, so I built a tool and decided to share it with everyone. This tool uses Groq (an AI inference engine that's different from Grok and offers very fast processing) and OpenAI's Whisper model (really accurate in multilingual) to quickly transcribe any YouTube video, regardless of the language. It's been a game-changer for my studies! To make it even faster, I created a Chrome…

I wanted to explore different open source Gen AI tools and brought them together to generate this youtube video: voice, music, image and text. All processed on a single RTX3090. The text for the video is generated using the wikipedia article on Octopus as a source.

Hi friends! I've been waiting for ChatGPT Code Interpreter access for so long that I decided to just build my own. I figured maybe some of you are in the same boat so decided to do it as an Open Source project.

Hi guys, For my startup at www.mithrin.ai which is about create AI Chatbot Agents for websites, I wanted to create some free tools to attract traffic to the site and decided to create specialized chatbots powered by LLMs, similar to OpenAI's Custom GPTs. I realized that by using gpt-4o-mini, I could create quite powerful alternatives to GPTs that are free to the public for a very small cost (given how cheap the model api cost is). I've employed some throttling to prevent abuse and to avoid being charged too much. Then I integrated this with my main service and allowed users to use the…

Hi HN - Marius (mbuleandra) and I built Restly as a side project. Restly generates a user-friendly tutorial against any OpenAPI spec. While building public-facing APIs, we found that writing these guides by hand took a lot of work. Many OpenAPI specs were too large to send to GPT-4 / Claude directly, and even when we could send them, we experienced lost-in-the-middle and hallucination issues. The project is very alpha but works against the Vocode API when we specify well-defined goals. Let us know your thoughts; we would love your contribution to the project! [1]…

I’ve been hacking on a project called Bookshelf (https://www.bookshelf.diy/). It lets you take an archive — say, your Substack export, a bunch of PDFs, or even saved HTML files — and turn that into a retrieval-backed GPT that your readers can query. The idea is: instead of scrolling archives, they just ask questions. Answers are pulled only from your original content, with citations. It’s aimed at writers and researchers who want their work to be more discoverable — but without spinning up vector infra or fiddling with RAG pipelines. For context: I’ve always gone back to Paul…

As a solo developer on a sizeable project, I found myself facing the challenge of creating documentation, a task I admittedly do not enjoy. Fortunately, ChatGPT arrived just in time. After experimenting with it, I discovered that it generates high-quality documentation for code files, even better than what I could produce manually. This realization led me to develop Code-Narrator, a client that simplifies the documentation process. Code-Narrator (https://github.com/ingig/code-narrator) utilizes GPT-4 to analyze your code files and automatically generate documentation. The…

The idea: what if you could get a “Masterclass”-style experience, but free, using existing YouTube content? So I made OpenCademy — right now it only has two quick startup "courses" (101 & 102), built from curated YouTube clips, all embedded and organized into modules. It’s still early (no accounts, no backend), but it’s bingeable. Would love thoughts on whether this concept feels useful or just... redundant.

Hey HN! Sophia here from Glato AI. For the last 3 months, we've been heads down building a cutting-edge short video ads generator. We got the idea because creating UGC shorts for user acquisition is a massive pain. Hiring creators costs $100+ per vid and takes forever. So we thought, why not use AI to automate this? That's where Glato AI comes in - it's one of the most advanced AI workflows we've built. Just feed it a product URL and it'll analyze the details, find related media, understand what's being shown, write a script, create an expressive avatar, lay out each scene with b-roll and…
