Products that do what Yupno – No-login RSVP tool with REST API and webhooks does

Hi HN, I got tired of having to register and having friends having to register accounts just for accepting a party or dinner invitation (also plenty of friends have left social media) so I coded a minimal, no-login event tool: https://yupno.com Dev-friendly stuff: Full REST API, async webhooks for RSVPs with Slack/Discord-adapted payloads. Auto-generates Ical, JSCalendar and JSON-LD. No auth, uses admin/user tokens in url. Should be possible connect to other stuff in fun ways. Free to use, no ads, no tracking. I just wanted a simple tool that respects my time and privacy.…

Heya HN, I've been working on a reddit-like platform as my primary side project for the last few years. Doing a (very) soft launch today, mainly because I want to use it to encourage discussion of alternatives. How non.io works: 1. Free to browse, paid to interact. 2. Minimum subscription is $2 (though you can choose more). I take $1 to run the servers, everything left gets split evenly between everything you upvote that month. It's a simple model, but I hope it's a better one than the freemium model we've been relying on for the last few years. Fundamentally I feel like any ad-supported…

Hi HN! Last year, I built LocalCan app in which you can develop apps using .local domains and Public URLs. Although it allows for testing webhooks too, I wanted to give back and create a free online tool specifically for that purpose! And so, I've made Webhook.cool Simply use your unique webhook URL to send any webhook to it from services like Shopify, Slack, Mailchimp, Trello, GitHub, PayPal, Discord, and Jira. Give it a try and let me know how if you have any feedback.

Hey guys, As Reddit makes it harder to use their API, I decided to make a wrapper around their undocumented JSON feeds. This allows you to get data from Reddit without authentication. This is only suitable for getting public data. I hope this helps someone out there. I'm also planning to make an android app via CapacitorJS using this library. Feel free to ask questions or give feedback. Thanks!

Hey HN! I have been working on this project for a while, and I think this solves a problem that a lot of people here have: not being able to easily search Discord servers. Currently, I only scrape servers that are marked as "discoverable" on Discord. However, if there's enough interest in the project, I'm open to adding specific servers by request. I'm primarily focused on informational servers rather than casual hangout spaces, such as open source projects, Minecraft mods, and support communities for tools, services, or platforms (for example, hosting providers). I have placed restrictions…

I'm doing a new Show HN[1] as we have now made this open source, and got some interest in comments in the past few days. We initially built this app for some friends in a co-living community - they were using pen and paper to track who's attending lunch - but it was error-prone. First I suggested a shared Google Sheets or Calendar, but that was also messy to maintain. Eventually, I developed something just for them. They used it for a couple of years, they loved it and wanted to use it for more things, too. So I took all the learnings from what was now the MVP, and with some friends we now…

Hello! I just made my first web app with Sinatra. It is a REST API that helps people add two-step verification to their websites or apps. I am a complete noob in web development so please criticize me and let me know how shitty this whole thing is. :) http://two-step.herokuapp.com/

Hey Mac, Jacob, Dominic and John here from the Commsor team. We originally built this for internal use to solve a frustration we had around manually sending calendar invites for virtual Zoom events we were hosting. We decided to polish it up a bit and release it for anyone to use, completely free. It enables you to quickly spin up an event page, collect RSVPs, send calendar invites, and export RSVPs. We've also built a host page for those hosting multiple events, making it easy to share one link with all of your upcoming events! You can see it in action here -…

Hey folks, Michael here. I have been working in this project on and of for about a year and a half and I finally got it into a state where I can share it. I initially started this project to learn Rust and afterwards decided to make it useful for others. Vulpo Auth is an authentication server that you can host yourself. The goal was to make it as easy as possible for you to get started and have a complete authentication solution without you having to configure anything. Project Website: https://auth.vulpo.dev The Project contains: - Auth Server (Rust) - Admin Dashboard - JS and…

Hey everyone! I've built an open-source Android app that allows you to browse Reddit without using their API. It is built on the library I've published here earlier. Basically, the app uses JSON feeds of Reddit to replicate various endpoints. What this means is that you can browse Reddit without an account and get posts, comments, images, videos and nsfw contents without having to deal with ads etc. In it's current state it has just the basic functionality and I am planning to add more features soon. I'd be happy to hear what you think and get an insight from your feedbacks. APK Releases:…

Hi HN, For years I’ve missed the feeling of an always-on chatroom without the silos and social overhead of Discord. So I built Together: a single-room, no-signup group chat that you join with one click. No channels, no rules (yet), no onboarding flow. Everyone lands in the same place and can start talking in under a second. Why I made it - Forums and blog comments are great but slow; Discord/Slack feel heavy for casual drop-ins if you aren’t already a member of a community. - I wanted the simplest possible space where ~100 people could idle, share shower thoughts, and keep the…

Hello hackers, I just launched a new MVP It's a todo app using mapped todo lists instead of regular lists ! https://ymappr.com It's bugged and very beta, but I released this complex MVP in only two weeks ! (+ made while relocating from Thaïland to Vietnam, and even while being sick). Needless to say, despite the raw interface, a lot of efforts was put into this. Hope I can give you a feel of what the final product will look like, and I would appreciate some feedback In the meantime, take care! baz

Hey Hackers, I was building multiple projects lately, and integrating logging was way too much for me. Managing self hosted ELK stack, or using existing log monitoring services (running their agent was consuming hell of resources on my tiny servers). It took me a day to code my own logging server, and client for python projects (serving as python packages - pypi), named it HueLogs. Sharing with you all, please feel free to contribute if you like. I might be adding a npm package for javascript client if I get chance to code tomorrow. Few features too add: - 30 min, last day logs etc. -…

Hi guys, This is just a simple script I've written while I was trying to find a way to implement Spotify public playlists into my last project I've published here: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=36496644 It works by using an endpoint that returns a script filled with credentials for anonymous browsing. This way you can get accessToken and clientID to use with the Spotify Web API. Hope you find it useful!
