Live location sharing for people who just want to meet.

5 Min Bro launched on June 9, 2026 with 11 votes, #1,225 of 22,647 launches that month and more than 90% of that year's launches.

What it does

Tired of waiting for the bro who's "be there in 5 min"? 5 Min Bro fixes that. One tap creates a session. You get a 4-digit code. Your friend types it in. Now you're both on the same live map, watching each other move in real time until you meet. No friend requests. No accounts for the other person. No 24/7 location sharing. Just a short session that ends when you link up. Perfect for meetups, festivals, or finding your squad. Premium: send custom sound recordings 🔊 Free on iOS & Android.

Tired of waiting for the bro who

We all have that one friend who says "be there in 5 min" while they're still at home in their pajamas. Send them a 4-digit code and watch on the map exactly where they are. No more lying. Ένας κωδικός, ένας ζωντανός χάρτης, ήχοι. Τίποτα περιττό. A code, a live map, sounds. Nothing extra. Πόσες φορές περίμενες έξω, σου είπε «κατέβα, έφτασα», και ήρθε μία ώρα μετά; Αυτό ακριβώς λύνει το 5 Min Bro. How many times did you wait outside, got a "coming, I'm here," and they showed up an hour later? That's…from fiveminbro.com

I go on a lot of backcountry trips where I barely get cell service. If my group splits, nobody knows knows where anyone is until you regroup at camp or at your destination. You can buy Garmin radios or try to set up an ATAK, but ATAK is Android-only and assumes you have a TAK Server running somewhere to make use of all of the functionality. Cool tools themselves, but expensive to set up correctly. I just wanted two iPhones to share their location directly over Bluetooth when cell coverage was lacking. Red Grid Link does that. Start a session, and anyone nearby running the app shows up on…

  • Today, I’m proud to announce Homebrew 6.0.0. The most significant changes since 5.1.0 are a new tap trust security mechanism, the new faster, smaller, default internal Homebrew JSON API, sandboxing on Linux, better defaults informed by our user survey, many brew bundle improvements, improved performance and initial support for macOS 27 (Golden Gate). Happy to discuss any questions here!

  • Hi HN! I was super frustrated at apps like tiktok and wechat preventing me from saving or downloading the animated gifs, so I made a little tool to turn a screen recording into a slack-sized emoji. Hope you get some value from this!
