A benchmark comparison of C++ vs. Node.js performance

What it does
Today I decided to make an HTTP route in C++. You can ask — why C++? My answer is: my free will. I just felt like it. I like to mess around, and that's the whole reason. So I did a little search and found a way: a library called Crow . It looks like Python's Flask, but for C++. A simple GET route that takes a custom name in the URL and returns hello <name>! It worked. But I wanted to know how much it could handle. So I ran the classic hammer: 12 threads, 400 connections, 30 seconds. Here's what Crow gave me: Crow: 164,457 requests in 30.06s · 5,470 req/sec · avg latency 76.34ms. "I hear C++ is a thousand times faster. So why am I only getting 5k requests per second?" I was confused. I'd…from vikky2810.github.io

Talanoa▲346Hi HN, I’m a fullstack developer, and honestly, I’ve lost count of how many side projects I’ve worked on over the years. But one idea kept coming back to me: a different kind of email client. It first came to me in 2014: “What if we could handle emails more like conversations?” Every year, I’d revisit this concept in my “Build Notes.” Ten years later, no one had built exactly what I had in mind — so I finally decided to do it myself. That’s how Talanoa was born. I wanted something focused on people, not timelines. I was tired of marking messages as unread just to remember to reply later, or…
