A remote team visualization tool

I just launched http://teamzones.io, a project I had been working on during weekends that attempts to solve a problem I've run into as a member of a remote team: keeping track of _when_ people are working in relation to yourself is a pain. Since this is hacker news and some of you might find this interesting, the stack is: * Go on AppEngine on the backend * Elm on the frontend And here's a breakdown of the source code: ~/s/g/s/teamzones (master)> cloc --exclude-dir=node_modules,vendor,static,elm-stuff,elm.js,index.html . 158 text files. 156 unique files. 48…

What it does

In the maker’s words, at launch

I just launched http://teamzones.io, a project I had been working on during weekends that attempts to solve a problem I've run into as a member of a remote team: keeping track of _when_ people are working in relation to yourself is a pain. Parabola.io – Automate your work with visual programming2018 · parabola.io · ▲291

Hi HN! I’m Alex from Parabola (https://parabola.io). Parabola is a visual programming tool for creating functional data flows that everyone can use. It’s entirely drag-and-drop, handles data sizes much larger than a traditional spreadsheet, calculates everything live, and can run your flows on a schedule of your choosing. I used to work in strategy consulting, doing data analytics for SMBs and Fortune 500 companies. The amount of time wasted on menial tasks was astounding. Things like cleaning data, generating custom reports, creating human workflows to solve shortcomings in third…

    Hubski, my idea of a better aggregator2011 · ▲18

One year ago, I downloaded the news.arc code and decided that I would teach myself programming by building a better aggregator. At that time, I had some rudimentary HTML knowledge, and little FORTRAN under my belt. I knew that I wanted an aggregator that could support a wide range of submissions, and one that could scale without losing quality for the user. Hubski is what I have to show for my time and effort. The easiest way to describe Hubski is to say that it uses a commenting system akin to HN or Reddit, but uses a sharing scheme like Twitter. You have a personal feed comprised of the…

    Remote working resources2019 · ▲10

Hey Hackernews! My names Olly (a Designer from the UK). I’ve been a long time lurker on Hackernews but now I finally have something to share with the community. Along with my friend Oliver (Developer, Sweden/Japan) we have been working on Remotewise.io. It’s a new resource and learning platform dedicated to remote work. We’ve both been working remotely for most of our careers. Over this time remote work has been gaining huge momentum as a viable and desirable way to work and we believe it’s the future. We’ve been working on this during our evenings and weekends in between our full-time…

    Teamhub.com – A single hub for your entire team – Projects, Chat, Docs2024 · teamhub.com · ▲6

Hey HN, We've just launched our team collaboration platform where we're bringing together all the important tools under one app. We've been frustrated in the past with tools which had a huge disconnect between projects and chat. It always inevitably leads to teams using external chat apps for "project management" and then abandoning the main tools altogether. We're creating tools we hope teams will stick with. Super integrated Chat. Convert comments to tasks and have them auto added to project boards. Automations to help massively reduce burden on the team. Workflows, Time-Off and so much…
