In plain words

A minimal text editor inspired by Vim and kilo, designed for users who prefer lightweight, keyboard-driven editing. Built with simplicity in mind, it offers core text editing functionality without unnecessary complexity. The editor targets developers and writers who want a fast, resource-efficient alternative to larger IDEs or text editors. Its small footprint and straightforward approach make it suitable for those comfortable with command-line tools and Vim-style keybindings.

Hey! Check out my "toy" text editor which I use as my daily driver. Features LSP autocomplete, goto definition, hover info Tree-sitter support Color themes (borrowed from the Helix text editor) Lots of bugs Macro support Something like Emacs org-mode: Open test.txt, place the cursor at line 15, and press "Ctrl-C Ctrl-C". This project was written as a "speed run" — not for speed in terms of time, but rather as an exercise to explore the text editor problem space without overthinking or planning ahead. It’s a quick and "dirty" implementation, so to speak.…

Hi everyone, I have been developing this editor, Ki, for over a year, and have employed it substantially in all kinds of development (including Ki itself) for at least 3 months. I think it is mostly crystallized, thus I'm happy to share it with you today. Its main strength is first-class multi-cursor and structural (syntax) editing, which is a rare combination in the realm of editors (TUI or GUI alike). Hope you'll enjoy it!

Hi HN, I’m a fullstack developer, and honestly, I’ve lost count of how many side projects I’ve worked on over the years. But one idea kept coming back to me: a different kind of email client. That’s how Talanoa was born. I wanted something focused on people, not timelines. I was tired of marking messages as unread just to remember to reply later, or…
