ABC Classic 100 Rankings visualised
This weekend is the ABC Classic FM countdown, which prompted me to dust off an old un-published data visualisation of rankings from previous years. I've considered adding a search function, but I also kind of like that it requires a bit of exploration in the current form. Some of the code is a bit clunky and I wouldn't mind refactoring it. I'm also not sure about browser compatibility - I've only got access to a couple of devices to test it on.

Every year since 2001, ABC Classic FM has run a Classic 100 event, where listeners vote on their favourite pieces. The lines track how the rankings for that piece have changed between 2001 and 2021. You can click or tap on a dot to highlight that piece and show detailed information. Other pieces by the same composer will also highlight in a lighter shade. My favourite observation from this visualisation is that 'The Lark Ascending' started high in the rankings (#2) in 2001, descended in 2010, before ascending again in 2021. I don't often vote in the Classic 100, but if I did my favourite piece would probably be "La Follia", by Vivaldi.
