ADPList

Felix here – founder at ADPList. ADPList is a mentorship platform where developers and designers can book 1:1 video sessions with experienced mentors for free, across topics like systems design, interviews, architecture reviews, and engineering management. A few years ago, while working as an engineer and building products in a small team, it was surprisingly hard to get practical, unbiased advice from people who had “been there before”. Conference talks and blog posts were too generic, internal mentors were too busy, and paid coaching didn’t scale for early-career engineers or folks outside…

ADPList launched on June 23, 2023 with 78 votes, #1,037 of 4,655 launches that month and more than 50% of that year's launches. The site was still online in September 2026, 3 years on.

What it does

If you’re looking for advice, jamming or networking - ADPList lets you freely schedule a 1:1 mentorship session in fun new ways and work with them directly. I benefited from it immensely when I came across it and thought it must be shared with product hunt.

Get matched with an experienced mentor for your career, craft, or next step. Includes one free session. Join a global community across 160+ countries.

A fresh perspective from someone who’s been there. Get matched with a mentor and turn “what now?” into what’s next. You don’t need to have it all figured out. Just a place to start. Priorities, stakeholder chaos, and “what should I do next?” — with someone who has been in the seat. Portfolio, positioning, and interview reality checks from people who hire — not generic advice. Design, product, eng, marketing, and more — sharpen skills with practitioners, not courses alone. Experienced people. Recognizable companies. Guidance for your next step. Mentor reflections, community moments, and the story behind ADPList. A few questions about you. A starting point for your next chapter. Mentors…from adplist.org

Garry Tan posted a video this week about what he calls 20x companies. The idea is that small teams beat incumbents many times their size by automating everything internally, not just one or two functions. This alpha is real, and I think it is underhyped tbh. But here's the honest part, building agents is hard, expensive and most of the scaffolding we make would be obsolete with a new labs release. at the same time models are not quite there and they are not keeping up with "coding is dead" and "knowledge workers are doomed". Pushing them beyond what they can actually do reliably just boils…

Hey HN, I've been building SimplAI for the past several months — it's a platform for building, testing, and deploying LLM-powered agents and multi-step workflows. The problem I kept running into: spinning up an AI agent pipeline means stitching together prompt management, tool calling, memory, evals, and deployment — often from scratch every time. SimplAI tries to be the layer that handles all of that so you can focus on what your agent actually does. What it does: - Visual + code-first workflow builder for chaining LLM calls, tools, and APIs - Built-in prompt versioning and A/B testing…

Hi HN! I left Google earlier this year and created Dyad, a local, open-source AI app builder made with Electron. The motivation: I tried one of the popular cloud-based AI app builders, but when I pulled down the app to run locally and debug in Cursor, it just didn’t work. So I created Dyad, an app builder that runs fully on your computer, making it easy to switch between Dyad and coding tools like Cursor or Claude Code. Source code: https://github.com/dyad-sh/dyad/ Download (free, no sign-up): https://www.dyad.sh/ I've gotten questions about how it…

  • Heya HN, I've been working on a reddit-like platform as my primary side project for the last few years. Doing a (very) soft launch today, mainly because I want to use it to encourage discussion of alternatives. How non.io works: 1. Free to browse, paid to interact. 2. Minimum subscription is $2 (though you can choose more). I take $1 to run the servers, everything left gets split evenly between everything you upvote that month. It's a simple model, but I hope it's a better one than the freemium model we've been relying on for the last few years. Fundamentally I feel like any ad-supported…
