Your portable cognitive profile — for every AI
What it does
Six validated psychometric instruments — Big Five (IPIP-NEO), attachment (ECR-R), humor, values, time perspective, cognitive style — compiled into a portable JSON that any LLM reads as context. Hand it to Claude, GPT or Gemini once. They know who you are. No more re-explaining yourself every chat. Open spec, downloadable, GDPR + EU AI Act compliant. Six languages. Normative base: 1.46M respondents from 93 countries.

I've been deeply involved in working with AI agents and large language models (LLMs) for a while now. During a recent job search, I found myself repeatedly explaining my skills and experiences to various assistants. Around the same time, I was creating content for my website to help hiring teams understand my capabilities better and make informed decisions. MCP had started to gain momentum and I saw a way to reduce my toil. So I built an MCP server that can effectively communicate my qualifications as a job candidate. This server acts as an AI-powered resume, providing an understanding of my…

We have a dataset of 3,095 standardized AI responses across 43 prompts. From each response, we extract a 32-dimension stylometric fingerprint (lexical richness, sentence structure, punctuation habits, formatting patterns, discourse markers). Some findings: - 9 clone clusters (>90% cosine similarity on z-normalized feature vectors) - Mistral Large 2 and Large 3 2512 score 84.8% on a composite metric combining 5 independent signals - Gemini 2.5 Flash Lite writes 78% like Claude 3 Opus. Costs 185x less - Meta has the strongest provider "house style" (37.5x distinctiveness ratio) - "Satirical…

I trained a 125M-parameter transformer to autocomplete piano performances in real time (~108 notes/sec on an iPhone 15). The idea is basically GitHub Copilot or Tabnine, except instead of prompting it with code, you prompt it by playing a few notes on a MIDI piano. The model then continues what you played, entirely on-device. The app is free if anyone wants to try it. Happy to answer questions about the model, training, Core ML, or the many things that didn't work.

Hey HN, Henry from Cactus here! We previously released Cactus Needle, a 14MB agentic LLM for tool call, device use, and structured extraction for phones, wearables, smart homes, small robots and microcontrollers. We got really great feedback here, and have now incorporated the suggestions to release Needle 2. The whole model is a single 14MB binary that runs a full session in 28MB of RAM; 45m parameters at 2bit compression. Needle hits 500 tokens/sec decode speed on a Raspberry Pi 5, sits between 400-1,500 tokens/sec on VR devices like Meta Quest 3S and Apple Vision Pro, and ranges…

Hey HN, Henry here from Cactus. We open-sourced Needle, a 26M parameter function-calling (tool use) model. It runs at 6000 tok/s prefill and 1200 tok/s decode on consumer devices. We were always frustrated by the little effort made towards building agentic models that run on budget phones, so we conducted investigations that led to an observation: agentic experiences are built upon tool calling, and massive models are overkill for it. Tool calling is fundamentally retrieval-and-assembly (match query to tool name, extract argument values, emit JSON), not reasoning. Cross-attention…
