Agent Context
I built a small VS Code extension to solve a problem I kept running into. When I’m working on something new, I usually have good reference code somewhere else: - an old service - a starter project - a pattern I’ve used before The problem is that against can't see any of that unless I copy it into the repo. So I built Agent Context. It lets you attach external folders into your current workspace (via symlinks), so: - you can browse them alongside your current project - and your AI tools can use them as context It also maintains a small generated instructions file listing what’s attached, so…

What it does
Developers reuse code from other projects, but the workflow is messy, copying files, juggling workspaces, or feeding context to AI tools. Agent Context lets you attach external projects as clean references inside your workspace without polluting your repo. It also makes those references visible to AI coding tools, improving how they understand and generate code.
Extension for Visual Studio Code - Attach external reference folders to your workspace for agent and developer context
Give your AI coding tools access to your best reference code — without copying anything into your repo. Modern AI tools like GitHub Copilot, Cursor, and ChatGPT are only as good as the context they can see. Agent Context lets you attach those projects directly to your workspace — so both you and your AI tools can use them immediately . Context GatewayMar 2026 · github.com · ▲220We built an open-source proxy that sits between coding agents (Claude Code, OpenClaw, etc.) and the LLM, compressing tool outputs before they enter the context window. Demo: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-vFZ6MPrwjw#t=9s. Motivation: Agents are terrible at managing context. A single file read or grep can dump thousands of tokens into the window, most of it noise. This isn't just expensive — it actively degrades quality. Long-context benchmarks consistently show steep accuracy drops as context grows (OpenAI's GPT-5.4 eval goes from 97.2% at 32k to 36.6% at 1M…
Context OverflowMar 2026 · ctxoverflow.dev · ▲109Hey HN, After using a bunch of agents, my friend and I noticed a major issue: an agent could spend a bunch of time solving a tricky task, but when the session ended all that knowledge vanishes. Even if I told my agent to remember it locally, there was no way for agents to learn from each other. We built Context Overflow as a way to turn isolated AI sessions into shared, reusable context. With Context Overflow, agents can: - Search through past solutions when starting a task - Ask questions when they get stuck - Share findings when they solve a non-trivial problem We support a variety of ways…

Context Copy – VS Code extension for quickly copying context2024 · marketplace.visualstudio.com · ▲12Show HN: Context Copy - VS Code extension for quickly copying context I've developed a VS Code extension called "Context Copy" that allows developers to swiftly copy multiple files with their full context, formatted as markdown. It's designed to streamline the process of sharing code snippets with AI assistants (like ChatGPT or Claude) or in documentation. Key features: - Select multiple files in VS Code Explorer - Right-click to copy full context as markdown - Automatic language detection for syntax highlighting - Includes file paths for better context preservation - Copies directly to…

With social media and now AI, its important to keep the indie web alive. There are many people who write frequently. Blogosphere tries to highlight them by fetching the recent posts from personal blogs across many categories. There are two versions: Minimal (HN-inspired, fast, static): https://text.blogosphere.app/ Non-minimal: https://blogosphere.app/ If you don't find your blog (or your favorite ones), please add them. I will review and approve it.
