Agent Historic Philosophical Persona Routing and Prompts

I've been building this for a while. The core of it is I've assigned different tasks in a software engineering job to different philosophers. The prompts are written toward their thinking by "them" but the keywords are generic. I absolutely love using this prompt system. I share it every chance I get. I wrote a whitepaper about it. Maybe ya'll would be interested in it. I find my experience is better with my prompts than without. The only thing you might not like is my heavy handed treatment of logging output. I was seriously fed up with LLMs trying to run huge tests or scripts and then…

I've been building this for a while. The core of it is I've assigned different tasks in a software engineering job to different philosophers. Maybe ya'll would be interested in it. I find my experience is better with my prompts than without. The only thing you might not like is my heavy handed treatment of logging output. I was seriously fed up with LLMs trying to run huge tests or scripts and then looking at just the last 20 characters. Everything is logged out to files and then the files are queried for the answers it wants.

    I built a firewall for agents because prompt engineering isn't securityJan 2026 · github.com · ▲7

Hi HN, I’m the creator of Cordum. I’ve been working in DevOps and infrastructure for years (currently in the fintech/security space), and as I started playing with AI agents, I noticed a scary pattern. Most "safety" mechanisms rely on system prompts ("Please don't do X") or flimsy Python logic inside the agent itself. If we treat agents as autonomous employees, giving them root access and hoping they listen to instructions felt insane to me. I wanted a way to enforce hard constraints that the LLM cannot override, no matter how "jailbroken" it gets. So I built Cordum. It’s an open-source…

Hi HN. I heard you like dev tools and AI, so we wanted to share our project that we’ve been working on. We’re working on Horizon [1] - a higher level abstraction for LLMs so that developers can spend less time trying to grapple with LLMs to make them work and more time with users. This is the starting feature set which takes an auto-ML approach to identify the optimal LLM model, hyperparameters, and prompt - instead of just giving you the tooling to figure it out yourself. You can read more about it in our documentations. Our view is that as LLMs become increasingly commoditized and prompts…

    I built PrompTessor – a tool to help people write better AI prompts2025 · promptessor.com · ▲12

After countless hours of solo coding, designing, and iterating, I’m both excited and nervous to share my first-ever product: PrompTessor — now live. As someone who constantly experiments with AI tools like ChatGPT and Midjourney, I often found myself stuck in a loop of trial-and-error. The issue wasn’t always the AI — it was often the prompt itself. That observation became the starting point for PrompTessor. This tool doesn’t just optimize your prompt — it analyzes it. It gives you: - A prompt score - A breakdown of strengths and weaknesses - A fully optimized version of your prompt - And…

  • I trained a 125M-parameter transformer to autocomplete piano performances in real time (~108 notes/sec on an iPhone 15). The idea is basically GitHub Copilot or Tabnine, except instead of prompting it with code, you prompt it by playing a few notes on a MIDI piano. The model then continues what you played, entirely on-device. The app is free if anyone wants to try it. Happy to answer questions about the model, training, Core ML, or the many things that didn't work.

  • Hey HN, Henry from Cactus here! We previously released Cactus Needle, a 14MB agentic LLM for tool call, device use, and structured extraction for phones, wearables, smart homes, small robots and microcontrollers. We got really great feedback here, and have now incorporated the suggestions to release Needle 2. The whole model is a single 14MB binary that runs a full session in 28MB of RAM; 45m parameters at 2bit compression. Needle hits 500 tokens/sec decode speed on a Raspberry Pi 5, sits between 400-1,500 tokens/sec on VR devices like Meta Quest 3S and Apple Vision Pro, and ranges…

Hey HN, Henry here from Cactus. We open-sourced Needle, a 26M parameter function-calling (tool use) model. It runs at 6000 tok/s prefill and 1200 tok/s decode on consumer devices. We were always frustrated by the little effort made towards building agentic models that run on budget phones, so we conducted investigations that led to an observation: agentic experiences are built upon tool calling, and massive models are overkill for it. Tool calling is fundamentally retrieval-and-assembly (match query to tool name, extract argument values, emit JSON), not reasoning. Cross-attention…
