Hi HN! I'm building Agora, an AI search engine for e-commerce that returns results in under 300ms. We've indexed 30M products and made them easy to purchase. Think of a decentralized Amazon. We've been working on an API that enables developers to embed our product data, search, purchasing, and order tracking functionality into their own app. We currently have 100k stores in the index and recrawl the entire dataset once every 24 hours. I realized that the PDF engines of modern desktop browsers (PDFium and PDF.js) support JavaScript with enough I/O primitives to make a basic game like Tetris. It was a bit tricky to find a union of features that work in both engines, but in the end it turns out that showing/hiding annotation "fields" works well to make monochrome pixels, and keyboard input can be achieved by typing in a text input box.
