AI pair programmer for Emacs
I built a pair programmer, using AI, but now am trying to go slow with new languages and paradigms using this package. I have noticed a decline in my programming skills, and wondered why I couldn't use AI as a pair programmer. Why can it watch what I'm doing over my shoulder and suggest changes? That way I can struggle through problems still and actually learn something. Results have been good so far :)

In plain words
AI pair programmer for Emacs is an Emacs package that observes a programmer's work and offers suggestions in real time, similar to an over-the-shoulder code review. Designed for developers learning new languages or paradigms, it provides guidance while allowing users to work through problems independently rather than generating complete solutions. The creator developed it to maintain programming skills and learning outcomes while working with unfamiliar technologies.

Huzzah – a novel approach to coding with AIAug 2026 · danielvaughn.dev · ▲384Hello everyone. I've been working on this experimental editor called Huzzah. I've been working almost exclusively with coding agents since January of this year, and over the past few months I began to feel utterly exhausted by them. They're great, but I'm finding it more and more tedious to write full sentences for every change I want. Not only that, but it seems there's a complexity limit for codebases - beyond a certain point the agent begins confusing itself. I'd like to go back to writing code, but I don't want to go all the way back to fully manual coding. So I've come up with this…

Homebrew 6.0.0▲1,481Today, I’m proud to announce Homebrew 6.0.0. The most significant changes since 5.1.0 are a new tap trust security mechanism, the new faster, smaller, default internal Homebrew JSON API, sandboxing on Linux, better defaults informed by our user survey, many brew bundle improvements, improved performance and initial support for macOS 27 (Golden Gate). Happy to discuss any questions here!

Hi HN! I was super frustrated at apps like tiktok and wechat preventing me from saving or downloading the animated gifs, so I made a little tool to turn a screen recording into a slack-sized emoji. Hope you get some value from this!
