What it does
apk-medit is an open-source CLI tool for searching and patching memory in Android apps — no root privileges, no Android NDK required. Since it works without root, you can test memory manipulation even on apps with root detection enabled. Built in Go, it runs on any debuggable APK and provides an interactive prompt with commands like find, filter, patch, and memory dump. Presented at Black Hat USA 2020 Arsenal and CODE BLUE 2020.

Apk-medit is a memory search and patch tool for debuggable apk without root & ndk. It was created for mobile game security testing. Many mobile games have rooting detection, but apk-medit does not require root privileges, so memory modification can be done without bypassing the rooting detection. Memory modification is the easiest way to cheat in games, it is one of the items to be checked in the security test. There are also cheat tools that can be used casually like GameGuardian.
