Appcan

We’re building Appcan, a security testing platform. While running scans ourselves, we kept hitting the same problem: the reports were accurate, but hard to act on. Most scan outputs are long lists of findings with severity labels, but very little context. You still have to decide what actually matters, what to fix first, and what can wait. So we added an AI interpretation layer on top of existing scan results. Instead of just showing raw findings, the AI reads the report as a whole and produces a short, structured summary explaining what the real risks are, why they matter, and where to…

Appcan launched on May 6, 2025 with 7 votes, #3,816 of 7,905 launches that month. The site was still online in September 2026, 1 year on.

What it does

Perform in-depth security testing and scan your iOS and Android app's code to prevent vulnerabilities and safeguard your users. Just upload your mobile app and receive a detailed security analysis covering vulnerabilities, compliance issues, and code quality.

Appcan uses AI to interpret mobile app security reports, surface the most important risks, and prioritize findings—so you know exactly what to fix first and why it matters. Without clear prioritization, security decisions become reactive instead of effective. AI translates complex findings into plain language, so you quickly understand what each issue means and why it matters. Security issues are automatically prioritized based on risk and impact, helping your team focus on the most critical vulnerabilities. One clear, AI-generated narrative keeps security, engineering, and stakeholders aligned and moving faster. Upload an .ipa or .apk package, and Appcan runs layered security checks…from appcan.io

  • Rubber DuckNov 2025 · tryrubberduck.com · ▲354

Hi everyone! I'm the maker of Rubber Duck. After shipping iOS apps, I realized how unpredictable App Store review can be. Even great apps get rejected for: missing metadata, small UI issues, broken flows on certain iPhone models, forgotten privacy entries, one-off crashes Apple found and many more. Each rejection set the launch back days. So I built Rubber Duck to be the “review before the review.” It combines automated checks with human testers using real iPhones like an App Store reviewer, but faster and kinder.

Most users won't report bugs unless you make it stupidly easy2025 · bugdrop.app · ▲335

Most feedback tools are built like people actually want to report bugs. They don’t. Unless you make it dead-simple, or better yet - a little fun. After shipping a few SaaS products, I noticed a pattern: Bugs? Yes. Bug reports? No. Not because users didn’t care but because reporting bugs is usually a terrible experience. Most tools want users to: * Fill out a long form * Enter their email * Describe a bug they barely understand * Maybe sign in or create an account * Then maybe submit it Let’s be real: no one’s doing that. Especially not someone just trying to use your product. So I built…

  • Finalrun – Spec-driven testing using English and vision for mobile appsApr 2026 · github.com · ▲28

I wanted to test mobile apps in plain English instead of relying on brittle selectors like XPath or accessibility IDs. With a vision-based agent, that part actually works well. It can look at the screen, understand intent, and perform actions across Android and iOS. The bigger problem showed up around how tests are defined and maintained. When test flows are kept outside the codebase (written manually or generated from PRDs), they quickly go out of sync with the app. Keeping them updated becomes a lot of effort, and they lose reliability over time. I then tried generating tests directly from…

Hi HN, I’m a fullstack developer, and honestly, I’ve lost count of how many side projects I’ve worked on over the years. But one idea kept coming back to me: a different kind of email client. It first came to me in 2014: “What if we could handle emails more like conversations?” Every year, I’d revisit this concept in my “Build Notes.” Ten years later, no one had built exactly what I had in mind — so I finally decided to do it myself. That’s how Talanoa was born. I wanted something focused on people, not timelines. I was tired of marking messages as unread just to remember to reply later, or…

  • Tapflow 2.0▲1,125

We built Tapflow for devs, designers, PMs, and tech folks who’ve been sitting on internal docs, templates, and systems — but never productized them. Upload a PDF, notes, or workshop deck, and Tapflow drafts a structured product (with chapters, teaser and pricing plans). It’s good for AI kits, onboarding guides, design systems, and frameworks. You can sell through Stripe, LemonSqueezy, or PayPal. Real-time collaboration is in early beta. No site builder, no LMS — clean design and just focused tools to ship.
