What it does
Drop in a photo, load a video, or flip on your webcam — every frame gets rendered as a mosaic of characters. You can tweak density, toggle color vs monochrome, and export your output. Why I built it: Always loved ASCII aesthetics but converting things manually was a pain. Wanted something fast and fun to play with. It's available on Gumroad — link in the first comment. Would love feedback, bug reports, and feature ideas for v2!
I built this because I thought it'd be cool. Turns out, it really is.ASCIIfy takes any video and converts it into ASCII art, frame by frame. You get the full video playing back as text characters — yes, actually playing. It looks insane on a terminal and even better when you record and post it.

I want to keep it as manual/analog as possible, hence there is no tool for converting image to ASCII. Prompting LLMs to draw ASCII art turned out to be a difficult task .
