Automatically update GitHub pages with Travis

Automatically update GitHub pages with Travis launched on December 16, 2014 with 6 votes and more than 50% of that year's launches. The site was still online in September 2026, 11 years on.

What it does

Do you want to update Github Pages automatically, and use Travis CI? You've come to the right place. Our source files end up on one branch, but we need to move the generated files to another branch. And of course, we don't want to just do this on every build, but on successful CI builds of master. Whew! Click this link to generate a new Personal access token. You might need to re-enter your password. That's right, just repo . If your repository is public, you can set public_repo instead. GitHub will create the token, and show you a flash with the value. THIS IS THE ONLY TIME YOU GET TO SEE THIS SO DON'T CLICK AWAY IMMEDIATELY! You'll need to copy this token into someplace you trust. I wrote…from steveklabnik.github.io

It first came to me in 2014: “What if we could handle emails more like conversations?” Every year, I’d revisit this concept in my “Build Notes.” Ten years later, no one had built exactly what I had in mind — so I finally decided to do it myself. That’s how Talanoa was born. I wanted something focused on people, not timelines. I was tired of marking messages as unread just to remember to reply later, or…
