Avoiding Imgur Link Rot is a digital asset manager built to preserve media files threatened by service deletions, particularly those hosted on Imgur. It backs up Imgur files and generates new permanent links, addressing link rot in communities that relied on the platform for image hosting. The tool was created as an early MVP to solve a specific problem: preventing broken links when Imgur deleted anonymous and NSFW content in May 2023.
