Axis One
I’ve been building a small hardware box that runs local LLMs like Mistral, Qwen and Llama, and exposes an OpenAI compatible API on your local network. There’s no cloud, no login system and no telemetry. I built it because a lot of small firms want ChatGPTbstyle tools but can’t use cloud AI for privacy or compliance reasons, and most don’t want to deal with GPU servers, drivers, Docker or model configs. The aim is to make local AI feel as simple as plugging in a router. Right now the box boots into a very simple web UI where you choose a model and start using it. The API follows the OpenAI…

What it does
Axis One is a small device that gives you a private ChatGPT style assistant that runs fully on your own network. No cloud, no data leaving your office. Plug it in, open the web dashboard and start chatting, uploading documents, and running local AI workflows with simple setup. Built for teams who need privacy, reliability and fast local AI without managing servers or touching Linux.
Private AI, On Your Desk.
Axis One is a desk-size inference console that keeps every token on your network. It arrives tuned, boots silently, and pairs with your OpenAI-compatible apps in under a minute. Developers, small offices, and homelabs finally get private chat, drafting, and internal Q&A without cloud risk. Dedicated edge silicon, tuned thermal design, and a silent footprint built for desks. Mistral, Qwen, Llama—chat, embeddings, file RAG, and function calling happen locally. Ethernet-first, low power, and no front ports. Axis One lives quietly on your network. Sixty seconds from unbox to boot. Ethernet plus power, nothing else. Pick Mistral, Qwen, Llama—downloads and updates run automatically. Keep every…from axis-one-psi.vercel.app

I built a free in-browser Llama 3 chatbot powered by WebGPU2024 · github.com · ▲547I spent the last few days building out a nicer ChatGPT-like interface to use Mistral 7B and Llama 3 fully within a browser (no deps and installs). I’ve used the WebLLM project by MLC AI for a while to interact with LLMs in the browser when handling sensitive data but I found their UI quite lacking for serious use so I built a much better interface around WebLLM. I’ve been using it as a therapist and coach. And it’s wonderful knowing that my personal information never leaves my local computer. Should work on Desktop with Chrome or Edge. Other browsers are adding WebGPU support as well - see…
Open source alternative to ChatGPT and ChatPDF-like AI tools2023 · github.com · ▲234Hey everyone, We have been building SecureAI Tools -- an open-source application layer for ChatGPT and ChatPDF-like AI tools. It works with locally running LLMs as well as with OpenAI-compatible APIs. For local LLMs, it supports Ollama which supports all the gguf/ggml models. Currently, it has two features: Chat-with-LLM, and Chat-with-PDFs. It is optimized for self-hosting use cases and comes with basic user management features. Here are some quick demos: * Chat with documents using OpenAI's GPT3.5 model: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Br2D3G9O47s * Chat with documents…
I made an app to use local AI as daily driver2024 · recurse.chat · ▲637Hi Hackers, Excited to share a macOS app I've been working on: https://recurse.chat/ for chatting with local AI. While it's amazing that you can run AI models locally quite easily these days (through llama.cpp / llamafile / ollama / llm CLI etc.), I missed feature complete chat interfaces. Tools like LMStudio are super powerful, but there's a learning curve to it. I'd like to hit a middleground of simplicity and customizability for advanced users. Here's what separates RecurseChat out from similar apps: - UX designed for you to use local AI as a daily driver.…
