Barflare

What it does

Barflare is a macOS menu bar app that finds local and Conductor dev servers, then crBarflare is a native macOS menu-bar app for developers who use Cloudflare Tunnels but don’t want to live in the terminal. Create, import, start, stop, monitor, and organise tunnels from one focused Mac interface. Barflare can discover local development servers, bind them to tunnels, show logs and live stats, manage ingress rules and access policies, and keep tunnels running with auto-start and crash recovery.

Barflare shows processes and ports on your Mac, creates temporary Cloudflare Tunnel links, and lets AI agents manage tunnels with full visibility.

Barflare shows what is running on your Mac, which ports are listening, and which services are exposed through Cloudflare. Flare local apps in one click, or let AI agents manage tunnels while you keep full visibility. Drag to Applications. Barflare lives in your menu bar - no dock, no window. Detects local web servers, the processes behind them, and the ports they expose - Conductor workspaces included. Click flare. Get a public HTTPS URL backed by Cloudflare, with the exposed route still visible in Barflare. Point Quick Share at a dev server, a static site, or a webhook receiver and get a temporary https://…trycloudflare.com link in seconds - no Cloudflare account, no domain, no DNS.…from barflare.app

Hi HN, I've been using Cloudflare for my work for a while now and getting to the dashboard has been a pickle. After adding the 8th page to my bookmarks, I realised it wasn't tenable. I noodled around with the idea and came up with this. Now I reach the page I want very quickly. The app is free to use for a single account, and a one time $50 purchase unlocks everything else - multiple accounts + customization.

Hey Hacker News The ones that know me here know that I am a productivity geek. After DockFlow to manage my Dock and ExtraDock, which gives me more space to manage my apps and files, I decided to tackle the macOS big boss: the menu bar. I spend ~40% of my day context-switching between apps — Zoom meetings, Slack channels, Code projects, and Figma designs. My macOS menu bar has too many useless icons I almost never use. So I thought to myself, how can I use this area to improve my workflows? Most solutions (Bartender, Ice) require screen recording permissions, and did not really solve my…

  Talanoa▲346

Hi HN, I’m a fullstack developer, and honestly, I’ve lost count of how many side projects I’ve worked on over the years. But one idea kept coming back to me: a different kind of email client. It first came to me in 2014: “What if we could handle emails more like conversations?” Every year, I’d revisit this concept in my “Build Notes.” Ten years later, no one had built exactly what I had in mind — so I finally decided to do it myself. That’s how Talanoa was born. I wanted something focused on people, not timelines. I was tired of marking messages as unread just to remember to reply later, or…

  Homebrew 6.0.0▲1,481

Today, I’m proud to announce Homebrew 6.0.0. The most significant changes since 5.1.0 are a new tap trust security mechanism, the new faster, smaller, default internal Homebrew JSON API, sandboxing on Linux, better defaults informed by our user survey, many brew bundle improvements, improved performance and initial support for macOS 27 (Golden Gate). Happy to discuss any questions here!

Hi HN! I was super frustrated at apps like tiktok and wechat preventing me from saving or downloading the animated gifs, so I made a little tool to turn a screen recording into a slack-sized emoji. Hope you get some value from this!
