What it does
Before God is the worlds first fully integrated AI discernment companion for devout Christians. Using frontier AI intelligence, it is governed, grounded and rule bound by scripture to ask the right questions, to draw the truth out from you, and be honest when it can't. As a Christian, receiving the knowledge of the truth is one thing, living and breathing it is something else entirely. The heart is an unreliable witness to our own behaviour and thoughts. So we built Before God to fix that.
Before God helps Christians tell themselves the truth about a grey-area decision and weigh it honestly against a Biblical framework. Not a verdict, not a chatbot, not a replacement for your pastor.
We’d like to see how people find Before God, using Google Analytics and an X (Twitter) pixel. Nothing you read here needs them, and the app carries none. Most apps tell you what you want to hear. Before God helps you tell yourself the truth — and weighs it honestly. No instant answers. No AI spiritual authority. No “Chat with God” claims. Before a single matter is weighed, you are received. The app asks what you wish to be called — then welcomes you by it. An unhurried threshold, not a sign-up form. A deliberately slow path. Each step is named. Nothing happens by accident. I trained a 125M-parameter transformer to autocomplete piano performances in real time (~108 notes/sec on an iPhone 15). The idea is basically GitHub Copilot or Tabnine, except instead of prompting it with code, you prompt it by playing a few notes on a MIDI piano. I made OwnTime to balance between competing priorities in my life. The idea is based on two main influences: the concept of "roles" from "The 5 Choices" (2015), and my repeated failure to effectively implement time blocking due to the necessary flexibility in my role.
