Better Camera

What it does

Better Camera is a manual photography app for iPhone. Manual ISO, shutter, focus, and white balance, plus 10 film simulations with real grain rendered through a Metal shader. No AI processing, no Smart HDR, no scene detection — what you see in the viewfinder is what you get in the photo. Built solo because the stock Camera over-processes and pro apps felt like full cockpits. HEIF, JPEG, lossless TIFF output. iPhone Camera Control + hardware shutter support.

Better Camera – manual controls and film simulations for iPhone. No AI, no post-processing, no compromise. Photos from this app look like they were taken with a professional camera, with a beautiful vintage film-like vibe. Easy to use and beautifully designed. I’ve tried many camera apps on iPhone, including Moment, and I honestly prefer the interface here. It’s clean, intuitive, and doesn’t overwhelm you with controls. Photos look natural, with pleasing colors and without the excessive sharpening that many apps apply. Super simple and easy to use. Refreshing compared to many other and love that there is a lifetime purchasefrom bettercamera.app

  Homebrew 6.0.0▲1,481

Today, I’m proud to announce Homebrew 6.0.0. The most significant changes since 5.1.0 are a new tap trust security mechanism, the new faster, smaller, default internal Homebrew JSON API, sandboxing on Linux, better defaults informed by our user survey, many brew bundle improvements, improved performance and initial support for macOS 27 (Golden Gate). Happy to discuss any questions here!

Hi HN! I was super frustrated at apps like tiktok and wechat preventing me from saving or downloading the animated gifs, so I made a little tool to turn a screen recording into a slack-sized emoji. Hope you get some value from this!
