BingeList: Movie & TV Tracker

Your friends know you better than any algorithm

What it does

Stop asking "any recs?" every weekend. When 2+ friends rate something highly, BingeList shows it automatically—no screenshots, no group chats, just consensus from people who know you. Features: friend consensus auto-surfacing, 200-char reviews (quick takes not essays), smart alerts 14/7/1 day before releases, one-tap recommendations, season-by-season tracking. Built for close friends, not influencer culture. Your friends know you better than Netflix's algorithm.

Hello HN! I've built a web app that helps you discover new shows and movies you'll actually enjoy by: - Connecting to your Sonarr/Radarr/Plex instances to understand your media library - Leveraging your Plex watch history for personalized recommendations - Using the LLM of your choice to generate intelligent suggestions - Simple setup: Easy integration with your existing media stack - Flexible AI options: Works with OpenAI-compatible APIs like OpenRouter, or run locally via LM Studio, Ollama, etc. - Personalized recommendations: Based on what you actually watch. While it's still a…

    Friends on Netflix2011 · ▲8

http://www.friendsonnetflix.com About a year ago Netflix removed their friends feature, where you could see your friends' ratings. This was a great way to discover new movies, but according to them only 2% of their userbase cared. So a few months ago I built this web app to recreate that and more. My goal was for sign-up to be as simple as possible. I don't even ask for your email (maybe I should though?). When you connect your Netflix account it pulls in your ratings/reviews. When you connect your Twitter and/or Facebook, it'll find your friend's profiles and follow them. This was my first…

    Movie Recommendations for several people to watch together2012 · foundd.com · ▲26

We've been working on a custom engineered collaborative filtering algorithm not only to recommend movies for one person but for several to watch together, at the same time. We're still in closed beta but would love to get feedback before launching.

With social media and now AI, its important to keep the indie web alive. There are many people who write frequently. Blogosphere tries to highlight them by fetching the recent posts from personal blogs across many categories. There are two versions: Minimal (HN-inspired, fast, static): https://text.blogosphere.app/ Non-minimal: https://blogosphere.app/ If you don't find your blog (or your favorite ones), please add them. I will review and approve it.
